Good morning, all, and, as always, with great thanks to Mark for his daily information pieces. However, I do have one correction on and about today's:
In 1964, my dear friend from high school, Charlie Clark, and I went to Wheaton to see what was still there, and, indeed, the railroad's office was still in the building which it had been in for years, at, I think, 400 Wheaton Drive, and, further, two men, who apparently were the last employees for the trustees, were still working, handling the sales of property. They gave us permission to go into the storage shed, which was on the yard property across the street, and take the entire accident photo file along with many of the company's official photos, negatives and transparencies. I made the mistake of selling the accident photo file some years ago at the St. Charles show (still regret doing so!) but I still have--and cherish--the other items which were given to me that day. (Just as an FYI: I was the person who cleaned out the North Shore Line's Adams & Wabash station in the loop as well as that road's Dempster Street station)
