Re: April 19 in RR History

April 19, 1956 Philadelphia trolley route 20 was rerouted southbound via Oregon Avenue, Marvine, and Bugler Streets to 10th. On April 26, route 20 was rerouted northbound via 10th, Oregon, 11th, and Snyder to 13th. Concurrent with the first route 20 rerouting, trolley route 79S, a shuttle route from Broad and Snyder to the Naval?Base, was abandoned. The main reason for the route 20 reroutings was construction of the Walt Whitman Bridge.? ? ? ? ? ? ?Dennis M Linsky
