February 5, 1956 Philadelphia trolley route 3 (Columbia Avenue, now Cecil B. Moore Boulevard), was converted to bus operation with new GMC TDH-5106 diesel buses, leaving PCC route 56 (Torresdale and Erie Avenues) as the only trolley route operating in Frankford.
