November 15, 1953 New one-way street regulations went into effect in Chicago's Loop, making Clark Street one-way south and Dearborn Street one-way north from Polk to Kinzie. PCC route 22 (Clark-Wentworth) used Dearborn Street north from Polk to Kinzie. Conventional trolley routes 42 and 45 used Clark Street south and Dearborn Street north from Archer Avenue to Kinzie. PCC route 20 (Madison Street) was cut back one block from Dearborn to Clark. One Railway Mail Clerk is killed, 23 Railway Mail clerks, 8 passengers and one train service employee are injured.
