Hi group.? I recently moved into a smaller house and no longer have the right amount of room for my pair of DQ-10 speakers.? It pains me, but I will probably have to sell them, and I have no idea what the value is or what they might be worth to someone.? I LOVE them.? They are an original set (original crossovers and speakers), serial numbers 22046 and 22048. ?
I replaced the foam surrounds for the woofer around 20 years ago, they definitely need to be redone and that's the only issue that I know of.? I also have the stands.
If I was going to put them up for sale, what do you think I should be asking for them?

A lot to assume here. What is the condition of the grills, fabric, wood rails? The audience of buyers for Dahlquist in general is dying off, so maybe $700 if great, $500 if OK and 400 if they need some attention.
DQ-10's aren't like a vintage car. Original caps make them less valuable IMO. My suggestions assume a local sale. Not worth shipping unless you find some dope willing to shell out huge $ to do it.

Where are you located? Do you have the stands? Guess value $400 - &600. Check Market place, EBay, Craigslist local sites. Good luck. If you are not to far from my I would be interested..

I'm going to say that they look great, fabric - grills - wood rails all fine. ?If I were to keep them, I'd replace the woofer's foam surrounds. Could I possibly get some images and size description like cloth color condition of the grill cloth etc. I have a set now and I have a bunch of spare drivers in storage but I could use a better set a grill Klos thing covers and I also have a set a DU ones and 2LP one active crossover’s so I have a lot of spares, but I don’t have another set a grill claw and mine are not that great?

I guess it’s hard to tell from the pics but I can’t see anything bad regarding the surrounds, are they deteriorated somewhere? If your hearing any distortion its probably just because it needs caps replaced.?

I have 3 new woofers and 2 sets of each board . I’d use these grills and redo the xo with clarity caps, save drivers and boards as spares?

What makes me think it’s the surrounds, is the same sound I heard 20 years ago before I replaced them. ?I never play these loud, but if I did turn up the bass, I hear that recognizable buzzing which went away after replacing the surrounds. ?I listen to them at normal volume levels now and hear nothing, but I just know it exists. ?I was thinking I could replace them again, those surrounds are inexpensive at $30, and unlike when I replaced them last time, there are many YouTube videos on how to do it correctly but I just don’t want to take them apart and deal with that.

If the caps were bad, it would sound distorted at any volume level, right? ?

For me they are fine as is. I want to use the grills on mine! I’ll keep the drivers and boards as spares.?

Steve. Do you mean you are the original owner and that these have never ben rewired? in other words is wiring polarity original??

Years ago Regnar sold me boxes for the DQ-10s. It had room for 1/2 insulation to fit all around. Back then I had to ship them via truck. Those were the days!

Yes, I am the original owner and there has been no work (no rewiring) other than the replacement of the woofer surrounds.?
