The placement of subwoofers is generally not as demanding as the
placement of full-range speaker systems. Our ears are not far enough
apart dor our auditory system to be able to act as an interferometer
and to discern direction at bass frequencies. Placement in a corner
can result in more acoustic loading. That may be advantageous or
disadvantageous, depending on the particular situation, what one is
trying to achieve, and how demanding the listener is.
