The great thing about DQ-10s is, their sound quality never wavers in absolute terms (assuming proper care and maintenance). Which means that as their market price goes down, their overall value goes up. Great for buyers; not so great for sellers. But then again, why would you ever sell a pair of DQ-10s? ;-)
I do see a lot of parallels between vintage audio and classic cars and motorcycles. Both can be more temperamental than their modern counterparts, but when they're running well, there's no comparison.
