Hello Sara,

?

Sara,?Happy Fourth of July to you! I hope you?enjoy today's video.

My Beautiful America

Have you ever spent the late afternoon

Watching the purple shadows deepen in the Arizona desert?

Or seen a herd of Elk plough their way

Through waist deep snow on a cold Colorado dawn?

Did you ever see the sun go down in Hawaii

Or seen the stormy waves break over the rockbound coast of Maine

Or have you ever see an eagle fly up out of the mists of Alaska

Or a big October moon hanging full over the still Dakota badlands?

Have you ever tasted the gumbo in New Orleans, barbecue in Carolina

Or the chicken wings in Buffalo?

Have you ever had Brunswick stew in Macon, or cornbread in Birmingham?

Or briskets slow cooked over hill country mesquite wood?

Did you ever drink the water from a gurgling branch in Utah,

Or stand on the mountain above El Paso Del Norte

And see the lights twinkling clear over into Mexico

Did you ever jingle horses in the pre dawn stillness of a perfect Texas day

And watch their shod hooves kicking up sparks on the volcanic rock?

Or tended a trot line on a foggy Carolina morning,

Or heard the distant love song of a lovesick whippoorwill

On a pristine Tennessee late night?

Have you seen the faces on Mount Rushmore or stood at the Vietnam monument?

Have you ever crossed the mighty Mississippi,

Or been to the Daddy of ‘Em All in Cheyenne, Wyoming

Or seen the mighty Vols run out on the football field on a chilly autumn afternoon?

Did you ever see the Chicago skyline from Lakeshore Drive at night

Or the New England foliage in the fall,

Or the summer beauty of the Shenandoah valley,

Or Indiana covered with new snow?

Did you ever see a herd of wild horses running free

Across the empty spaces of Nevada?

Or catch a walleyed pike out of a cold Wisconsin stream,

Or marveled at the tall ships docked in the harbor at Baltimore?

Did you ever see the early morning dew sparkling on the bluegrass,

Or the wind stir the wheat fields on a hot Kansas afternoon

Or driven the lonely stretches of old Route 66

Have you ever heard the church bells peal their call to worship

On an early Sunday, in some small town in the Deep South?

Or passed through the Redwood Forest just as the sun was going down?

Have you ever been to Boise or Baxley or Beaufort or Billings?

Have you ever passed through Sanford or Suffolk or San Angelo

Have you ever seen the falls at Niagara

The Ice Palace in Saint Paul

Or the Gateway to the West?

This then is America!

The land God blesses with everything

And no Eiffel Tower: No Taj Mahal,

No Alps, No Andes

No native hut, nor Royal Palace

Can rival her awesome beauty,

Her diverse population, her monolithic majesty.

America the Free

America the mighty

America the beautiful

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America

And to the republic for which it stands

One nation under God, indivisible

with liberty and justice for all.

So far no one from the shelter where Henry volunteers has called me back, why don't some of you call too, maybe if they get several calls about him, they will answer, it can't cost much to place a call & leave a message.

Misdemeanors

Will I Go to Jail for a Misdemeanor?

Written by and Fact Checked by The Law Dictionary Staff ?

If you've been arrested and charged with a crime, you may be worried about spending a amount of time in prison. Chances are good that you've already been exposed to the penal area of the police station that processed you in the aftermath of your arrest. Depending upon the in which you were arrested and the time of day in which the arrest occurred, you may have been jammed into a cramped jail cell or given a semi-private room of your own. If you've already spent time with other accused criminals in a secure , you may be dreading the thought of returning to such a place after your conviction.

The rules that govern misdemeanor crimes vary widely by jurisdiction and . For starters, there are several different "classes" of misdemeanor crimes. These range from lightly-punished petty misdemeanors to relatively serious Class A misdemeanors. Depending upon the state in which you're arrested, these classes may designated numerically or alphabetically. In either case, they're functionally similar.

If you're charged with a petty misdemeanor, there's virtually no chance that you'll be sent to prison. Most petty misdemeanors are punishable by a relatively small fine of $300 or less. Examples of petty misdemeanors include petty theft and personal possession of certain controlled substances.

If you're charged with a low-level misdemeanor that's deemed to be more serious than a petty misdemeanor, you'll probably face a significant fine and may be required to in a community-service program. However, it's unlikely that you'll be incarcerated for such a crime. Low-level misdemeanors include vandalism, and "disturbing the peace." Meanwhile, more serious misdemeanors like burglary and grand theft might be punishable by some jail time. In most cases, misdemeanor jail sentences can't exceed two years in length.

The likelihood that you'll be incarcerated for a misdemeanor may also depend upon the state of the prison system in your jurisdiction. In many states, municipal and state-run jails are overflowing with inmates. For instance, California's prison population exceeds the rated capacity of its prison system by a factor of two. Given the obvious space constraints that this systemic overcrowding can produce, many judges are inclined to be lenient with repentant offenders. In other words, any prison sentence that you would have received for your crime could be reduced to a "time served" sentence that involves significant amounts of community-service work. If you show remorse for your actions, such an outcome will be more likely.

??
Once upon a time there lived a King who had the most beautiful daughter.

?

But there was a problem. Everything the princess touched would melt.

?

No matter what:?
Metal?
Wood?
Stone?
Anything she touched would melt.

?

Because of this, men were afraid of her. Nobody would dare marry her.

?

The King despaired. What could he do to help his daughter?

?

He consulted his wizards and magicians. One wizard told the King,?
'If your? daughter touches one thing that does not melt in her hands, she will be cured.'

?

The King was overjoyed and came up with a plan.

?

The next day, he held a competition. Any man that could bring his daughter an?

?

THREE YOUNG PRINCES TOOK UP THE CHALLENGE.

The first brought a sword of the finest steel.?

But alas, when the Princess touched it, it melted.?
The prince went away sadly?

The second prince brought diamonds.
?
He thought diamonds are the hardest substance in the world and would not melt.?
But alas, once the Princess touched them, they melted.

He too was sent away disappointed.

?

The third prince approached. He told the Princess,?
'Put your hand in my pocket and feel what is in there.'

The Princess did as she was told, though she turned red.

She felt something very hard. She held it in her hand.?

With the average cost for a Nursing Home per day reaching $188.00,there is a better way when we get old & feeble. I have already checked on reservations at the Holiday Inn for a combined long term stay discount and senior discount of $49.23 per night. That leaves $138.77 a day for:?

1. Breakfast, lunch and dinner in any restaurant I want, or room service.?

2. Laundry, gratuities and special TV movies. Plus, they provide a swimming pool, a workout room, a lounge, washer, dryer, etc. Most have free toothpaste and razors, and all have free shampoo and soap.?

3. They treat you like a customer, not a patient. $5 worth of tips a day will have the entire staff scrambling to help you. There is a city Bus stop out front, and seniors ride free. The Handicap bus will also pick you up (if you fake a decent limp). To meet other nice people, call a Church bus on Sundays. For a change of scenery, take the Airport shuttle Bus and eat at one of the nice restaurants there. While you're at the airport, fly somewhere. Otherwise, the cash keeps building up.?

4. It takes months to get into decent nursing homes. Holiday Inn will take your reservation today. And you are not stuck in one place forever, you can move from Inn to Inn, or even from city to city. Want to see Hawaii? They have a Holiday Inn there too.?

5. TV broken? Light bulbs need changing? Need a mattress replaced? No problem. They fix everything, and apologize for the inconvenience. The Inn has a night security person and daily room service. The maid checks to see if you are ok. If not, they will call the undertaker or an ambulance. If you fall and break a hip, Medicare will pay for the hip, and Holiday Inn will upgrade you to a suite for the rest of your life.?

6. And no worries about visits from family. They will always be glad to find you, and probably check in for a few days mini-vacation. The grand kids can use the pool. What more can you ask for??

So: As I reach the Golden age I'm facing it with a grin. I'll just check into the nearest Holiday Inn!

Our hoomin is the only hoomin on the 30 acre property we live on
who hasn’t done time in the slammer. Our landlord has been in and out of the pokey
several times, and some visits have been for several years. Our former next-door
neighbor (Kaia’s hoomin) has been in and out all his adult life, most recently
last October for possession of two bags of meth (he was bailed out on the 6th
day of incarceration) and then was back in 13 days after being bailed out, this
time for “assault with a deadly weapon [a golf club] without intent to kill”.
Our resident car mechanic was recently incarcerated for allegedly beating his [common
law?] wife, but the common law wife bailed him out after only a few days
inside. She’s done some time for non-payment of child support for a kid from a
previous relationship.

?

Living out here in the middle of nowhere has certainly been an

We really don’t have any first-hand knowledge of such matters. According
to the Richmond County (Georga) Sheriff’s Office website, he was arrested on
6/13/2017, charged with Misdemeanor Sentenced, and the disposition is “sentenced”.

As long as he's been in there, it must be because he's waiting
for his court date.I don't think it involved Carol, that would be more than a
misdemeanor, wouldn't it?

We really don’t have any first-hand knowledge of such matters. According
to the Richmond County (Georga) Sheriff’s Office website, he was arrested on
6/13/2017, charged with Misdemeanor Sentenced, and the disposition is “sentenced”.

I have no idea what would be a misdemeanor, so I looked it up......I thought of road rage, but I don't know if he has a bad temper, so I'm clueless.

What Are Examples of Felonies and Misdemeanors?

?

In the United States federal criminal code, crimes are divided into two broad categories: and . The distinction here is one of maximum punishment; misdemeanors are crimes that carry a maximum of twelve months incarceration (jail time) and felonies are those crimes that have punishments in excess of twelve months incarceration.

Examples of Misdemeanors Versus Felonies

A crime can have the same general classification but be broken down into several levels of severity, some of which may raise the seriousness from a misdemeanor to a felony.

Assault

A good example of multiple levels of severity is the general class of crime referred to as assault. In the case of assault, threatening to cause harm to a person but not carrying through on the threat would be classified as a misdemeanor. Assault that resulted in actual bodily injury, or in which a weapon was used as part of the assault, would be considered a felony.

Theft

Theft is another example of a crime that has differing levels of severity. Petty theft is the unlawful taking of property or money from another person without their consent. The distinction between whether theft is a misdemeanor or a felony is dependent on the value of the cash or property stolen. Many states consider theft of up to $500 a misdemeanor and larger amounts to be a felony. Felony theft is often referred to as larceny.

Indecent Exposure

Other crimes are distinguished as being misdemeanors or felonies depending on whom the crime is committed against. The crime of indecent exposure falls into this category. Exposing one’s private parts in public in such a way as to alarm others is considered to be a misdemeanor. However, if the exposure is before a child, then the crime rises to the level of a felony. Different states set different age limits as to where the line exists between misdemeanor and felony indecent exposure.

Traffic Violations

In most instances, traffic violations are classified as misdemeanors. Examples of misdemeanor traffic violations include:

  • Speeding
  • Driving without a license
  • Driving without insurance
  • Driving under the influence (DUI)

Felony traffic violations include: leaving the scene of an accident and vehicular homicide.

Another potential felony traffic infraction is repeated DUI’s. In this case, many states upgrade repeated charges of DUI from misdemeanor to felony status. While the criminal act being committed is the same, multiple violations can result in a felony charge that carries harsher punishments.

Jail Time for Misdemeanors Versus Felonies

The primary difference between misdemeanors and felonies is the amount of jail time that a convicted offender can be sentenced to serve. Many felonies are also broken down into classifications, or levels of seriousness, according to what punishments may be imposed.

Felonies that are broken down into these differing classifications include:

  • Murder
  • Rape
  • Arson
  • Sale of illegal drugs
  • Grand theft?
  • Kidnapping

These felonies can be classified from Class E or F felonies such as the lowest levels of theft up to Class A felonies which carry a life’s sentence in prison or the death penalty. Class A felonies are generally murder or first degree intentional homicide.

Severity of Punishments

The classification of misdemeanors and felonies is legally based on the severity of punishments and the most severe of punishments are reserved for the most serious offense. Traffic violations, trespass, petty theft and similar offenses are misdemeanors and depending on the state, carry maximum jail times of between 6 months and 1 year. The attendant fines are also limited to relatively small amounts of money, generally $1000 to $2000 maximum.

Felonies such as murder, rape, arson and kidnapping are substantially more serious and all carry jail times of at least one year and in most cases, substantially greater terms of incarceration. At the most severe level of felony classification, Class A, the maximum penalty can be life in prison without parole or the death penalty.
