Me too, and I delete them. For many years, my QRZ page has said that I no longer respond to JA cards, because they have overwhelmed the Bureau trying to win JA awards for the sheer quantity of card, and that I respond to requests for paper cards ONLY for QSOs that are confirmed in LOTW. I do a lot of contesting, and if I worked a station five times (on different bands), I'd get five cards from them, all automatically generated, two years after the contest, all via the Bureau. For me, at least, they destroyed the Bureau system.

DXKeeper makes it very easy to upload to LOTW, eQSL, and Club Log, and I'm 100% for all three since getting back on the air in 2003.

Most of these are from qslworld and seem to be from totally random quite old qsos and nothing special. I think the intention is that you should join yourself and reply via their system. Replies sent as replies to the email probably never reach your qso partner.
+ There's a link the the sender's email address directly beneath the received QSL image. However, I've received no response from then 10 or so QSLs I've emailed.
I just delete these now, but if you want to sign up to qslworld you are of course entitled to do so. eqsl operate a different system in that the system has a function to tell a qso partner that there are eqls waiting but the actual cards are not emailed.
+ Are there any well-known awards that accept QSLWorld confirmations?

+ Even if the answer is "none", a QSL remains the last courtesy of a QSO. It'd be nice to be able to answer with a mouse click or 2 - if the response will reach the sender. Otherwise, your "just delete these" response would be appropriate.

Thank you, Dave.? I was not aware of step 2B, which is much easier.? It is clumsy, but I have it working OK.
I reply to the emailed QSL.? I use Insert Image to paste in my QSL card.? Then I paste in an image of the QSL panel's print, which contains all the QSO details, then Send.

I am getting more and more online QSLs. Is there an automated way to respond back to their email address with my filled-out QSL?

+ Assuming you already have DXKeeper to be able to print QSL cards, as described and illustrated in

1. on the Main window's QSL tab,

1a. clear the QSL Queue if it's not empty

1b. set the "QSL Via" panel to "QSL Cards"

1c. check the "Print preview (QSL cards) box

2. For each logged QSO to which you wish to respond via email,

2a. select the QSO in the "Log Page Display" on the Main window's "Log QSOs" tab

2b. right click, and select "Add to QSL Queue" from the pop-up menu

2c. on the Main window's QSL tab, click the "Print QSL Cards' button

2d. in the "Print Preview" windows that appears, click the "Copy to Clipboard" button in its upper-right corner

2e. in the Windows Paint (or equivalent) application , paste the contents of the Windows clipboard, crop the QSL card image as desired, copy the cropped image to the Windows Clipboard, and paste the image into your email response to the sender

2f. on the Main window's QSL tab, click the Clear button

+ This could be further automated by adding a "Copy cropped QSL image to the Clipboard" command to the Log Page Display's right mouse menu. I've added this to DXKeeper's enhancement list, but won't go near it until I publicly release the next versions of DXKeeper and SpotCollector, which are still being tested by users.

Dave, if I use your method, how do I tell DXKeeper to flag a QSL for printing?? Using the "R" field in the QSL sent section?? That's already been used, in some instances, for postal QSLs.? And, the Online ones are only LOTW and eQSL.? Can I use Sent Via IOTA or one of the others and "R" to flag them for the QSL tab?

Re: Responding to Emailed QSLs

I've been getting them too, even though my QRZ page clearly states that I won't confirm the contact that way.? Usually there is a comment on the Email QSL that tells you how to respond.? Here is my issue, I am working toward ARRL awards for DXCC, etc.? These email QSLs don't count for those awards.? If you are interested in exchanging?that contact I suggest you get connected to the QSL system they are using.? My question for them is why don't they subscribe to LOTW???
Good Luck.

Re: Graphics cards and Monitors for the shack/ DXLab (about setting affinity)

+ AA6YQ comments below
Do you need to keep Process Lasso running all the time, or can you run it once, set your parameters, and then exit?

You do not need to keep the Process Lasso user interface (GUI) running at all times for your rules and optimizations to remain active. Process Lasso is designed with a separation between its GUI (ProcessLasso.exe) and its core engine, called the Governor (ProcessGovernor.exe):

  • The GUI is used for configuration, monitoring, and displaying the system tray icon, but it does not enforce any rules itself.

  • The Governor is a background process or service that actually applies and enforces all your rules and optimizations.

Once you have set your desired parameters and rules using the GUI, you can close the GUI application. The Governor will continue to run in the background, using minimal system resources (typically 1¨C3 MB of RAM and almost no CPU), and will keep enforcing your settings.

If you want the absolute minimum resource usage, you can configure Process Lasso so that only the Governor runs, without the GUI or system tray icon.

Summary Table

Component Process Name Needs to Stay Running? Role
GUI ProcessLasso.exe No Configuration, monitoring, tray icon
Governor (Core) ProcessGovernor.exe Yes Enforces rules in the background
?

In short:
You only need to keep the Process Lasso Governor running for your rules to be enforced. The GUI can be closed after configuration.

The Ham Bands Only check box is replaced by "Dual Track" for
some rigs with dual receivers.

I'm working my way through the manual and help files. Guidance for Commander, section on Changing Frequency (p 50), refers to a check box for "Ham Bands Only.'
I have not found the location of that checkbox in the Commander window nor in the Configuration window for Commander.
The checked box seems to result in the up down buttons to the left of the VFO frequency changing frequency by ham band. My current buttons cause frequency to move up or down by one MHz.
The Ham Bands Only checkbox must be obvious, but I'm just not seeing it.
Thanks for help[!
