your program, make the DXLabs folder and the WSJT folder (if you are using it) as an exception. It works. I am running Win10 and I have the warnings from Win10 Windows Security or Defender. I updated with no issue. The problem is the MalWare program - not DXLabs. -----Original Message-----

Removing Dupes from a LARGE DXK Log (+96,000 Q's)
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI¡¯m trying to help a ?friend with a large 96,000 QSO DXK log that has somehow been largely duped. +45,000 dupes. ? I¡¯m in the process of running the process again, but it¡¯s probably going to take about 3 hours to scan the log. ? Did I miss a step? ? My "primary" monitor is the 24" 1920 X 1080. That's where my icons live, and the monitor I use most. The secondary is a 20" 1680 X 1050. I think I solved the problem. I had started by increasing the scaling in Windows to 110 % (I incorrectly stated 105 % in my original post). 110 % was too high, as it cut off the bottom of DXKeeper. I reduced the scaling 1 % at a time until DXKeeper was completely visible again. That turned out to be 106 %. That 6 % of increase made all the difference in the world! All the screens are now easily legible, and they only take up a bit more real estate. Age is 71, and my vision was 20/800 until I had LASIK 20 years ago. Since then, cataracts and floaters have reduced my vision, but this was the solution I was looking for!! Thanks Again es 73 Dave - KB3MOW On 4/8/2020 7:31 PM, w6de wrote:

You can exclude the DXLabs folder after removing the quarantined file from jail but this is also a danger. Once you exclude that folder a trojan could put itself there. It is a case of dead if you do and dead if you do not I excluded ad will take the chance that most malware does not know about this possible problem and along with good backup it is better to live with it. If something bad happens then Acronis (and many other image backup programs) can do a full restore in a very short time. Paul,
Even though the problem may be Windows update related ... I canWindows Updates generally include an update to the Defender virus signature list. The update probably triggered a rescan of your system which took some time before Commander and DXKeeper were flagged (falsely). I have tried various methods to reinstall and no luck so far.See: /g/DXLab/message/192460 You will need to repeat the first half twice - once to remove Commander from quarantine and a second time to remove DXKeeper from quarantine. The second half (excluding the entire DXLab directory tree) should protect DXLab Suite from further attacks by Defender. 73, ... I've reimported with the Station, Operator and Owner Call: N0S, N0FY, N0FY There were still problems as it wouldn't recognize N0S. I went back to TQSL and generated a Station Location with the N0S certificate (new from before) Then updated QTH tab with the Location and call for this operation Then filtered log by this QSO party Then did the Station Location replace in My QTH Did a test upload of several Qs using the right mouse click on the Log window and they went fine. Added all of these to the Que and did an Upload to LotW operration I get back 2 of 733 QSOs are already uploaded; aborted?? No QSOs were processed because some were duplicates or invalid. How to fix?? |
