After clicking the update button a window comes up doing downloading.
After downloading then a message comes up
Can't replace c\DXLAB\DXKEEPER.EXE because it's either in use or write protected. DXKEEPER has not been updated.?
Then I Hit the OK button
Now dxkeeper won't run because DXKeeper.exe was removed. DXKeeper719.exe is still there.

As for cleaners, almost none of it good. I think the registry is the biggest defect of windows design although I have no idea of how it should have been done.

I should add to my instructions about how to remove a file from quarantine:
I'm no computer?expert. I found that this procedure?works for me. In the interests of avoiding any liability from someone who gets in a jam by not following the instructions precisely, or finds them inaccurate or unhelpful:
"While believed to be correct, this advice comes with no guarantees of any kind. You alone remain responsible for the security of information on your computer system".??
It's sad, when trying to help people that a statement like this has to be made, but....
What is the saying: YMMV? Use Windows 10 at your own risk? Take a file out of quarantine at your own risk?
By the time we are done with all this CMA stuff, we might as well turn all this ham radio equipment off and watch TV.?
Nevertheless, the advice to put in a disclaimer when trying to help anyone with any software is excellent advice!

on the download side,
but a machine can be infected afterwards and that does not exclude DX Labs

I'm trying to help a friend with a large 96,000 QSO DXK log that has somehow been largely duped. +45,000 dupes.
I tried having him run through the prescribed Wiki process and got to the point of hitting the CTRL-DELETE button.
Prior to that, he made a backup, set his sort to UTC, set the Duplicates Range to 0, and then hit the FILTER button.
After 3 hours of scanning, the process finished and he got an indication there were 45,000 or so Dupes.
I didn't see the exact message, as I was helping him remotely over the phone.
But after hitting the CTRL-Delete, and the Log Panel display going empty ,then hitting the remove filters "X" to bring up his QSO's
again, the dupes were still there?
+ No one has ever reported a failure of the "CTRL-Delete" operation.
+ I suggest that you have your friend backup his log immediately after the "Filter Duplicates" operation completes: Configuration
window, Log tab, Backup button. That will give you the option of trying again without repeating the multi-hour search for
duplicates.
Also, is there another, faster way to do this?
Like exporting to ADIF and reimporting with the "Check for Duplicates" option on.

that's 8.1 billion comparisons.

it) as an exception. It works. I am running Win10 and I have the warnings

The problem is the MalWare program - not DXLabs.
