Re: Not promising
I don't think anyone has publicized a comprehensive "defects

Re: Suggestion for WinWarbler
Open the WinWarbler's Config window, and select the "Broadband
Decode" tab. In the "Stations Heard" panel, check the "create local spots in SpotCollector" box. Now every station decoded by stations heard will be added to your Spot Database, where it will be colored according to need, and can be filtered and/or sorted as desired. If you set SpotCollector's Band filter to "Transceiver Band Only" and set its Mode filter to "PSK31", then the the Spot Database Display will only show PSK31 spots from the Stations Heard window or other ops, all colored by need. If you only want to see spots generated by the Stations Heard window, use the SQL filter SOURCE='KB0FHP' 73, Dave, AA6YQ --- In dxlab@..., "D. I finally "resolved" my software problem when I found the original CD with all the programs on it - placed where it wouldn't be harmed while I was down sick. Getting my 'puters back to best performance levels, then wiring up the mess again will be the next task. I'll give all the suggested programs a try, as time permits, since I have no idea if the transition from Win '98SE (blue screen of death, mostly!) to XP, in NT mode, will work right or not. Only a lot of messing around with the keyboard, mouse, and various guesses will give me a clue if B. Gates 'n his OS systems will allow the gear to respond as per all the propaganda. I have been playing with PSK31 for a week or so, and pretty amazed at the

As a possible suggestion, one thing that would be really cool, is to see the stations heard turn colors - for instance if worked but not confirmed, not needed, needed band/mode, or needed on all bands. The same colors could be adopted from SPOT COLLECTOR.... Does this sound useful? Thanks again for a great piece of software. Scott, aka KB0FHP |

Re: upgrading launcher
Whatever you do, "DON'T" just delete files from the launcher installation folder without first uninstalling it via add/remove programs in the control panel. To do so would remove the uninstall information and leave you with a much more difficult problem to correct. That's true of any installed program.

Assuming that the path name you gave is correct in accordance with the location where you initially installed Lanucher 1.5.2, there should be a file named "launcheragent.exe" there. If it's not there, apparently something didn't go right with the initial installation. Dave should be on-line a little later so let's wait for him to suggest the appropriate action. I just wanted to get this out quickly to hopefully avoid the above far more serious mistake. The good news is that If you have successfully installed other DXLab applications, they should not be affected by this problem. 73, Rich - W3ZJ At 03:49 PM 8/30/2007, you wrote:

Re: alarm on Pathfinder 4.4.6
Errors in scripts can only come from the web page that Pathfinder is
attempting to display. From the URL, Pathfinder is searching QRZ.com. The correct URL is {TargetCallsign} which is a bit different than what you show below. Are you able to search sites other than QRZ.com without seeing script errors? 73, Dave, AA6YQ --- In dxlab@..., "Danny Douglas" <n7dc@...> wrote: requested)))) the web site comes up with the proper response information. |

Re: alarm on Pathfinder 4.4.6
I have a similar problem with AWS Weatherbug. Whenever I go to the radar display and ask to enlarge or animate the display I get that script error. It's very strange because it doesn't matter whether I say continue or don't continue, it continues anyway and nothing seems to be wrong. It seems to be a Windows thing and thus far I haven't been able to track it down. If anyone has the solution I'lI be eternally grateful. However, I have not had any problem with QRZ.com and Pathfinder 4.4.6.

and DXLab integration. I'll add my personal preference to the mix. WinWarbler is my "default" PSK and RTTY application. I am much more used to the operation of WinWarbler, with the macros, seamless operation with other DXLab apps and GUI layout. I use MultiPSK for the more "exotic" modes that WinWarbler doesn't do. MultiPSK is a great piece of software, and I appreciate the work Patrick has put in to it. It can be a bit overwhelming, though. So many modes to choose from, hi. 73, Ken KC9GLQ -----Original Message-----

Strangely enough there is another fella with your name and callsign over on the Multipsk group who answered this question with the same answer. :) Off hand, I don't think Spot Collector is going to be much use to me but time may prove me wrong. Maybe I may find a DX spotter over in VK which I can use it for. The rest looks very usefull. Re: New laptop

Turns out most of the units I see on Ebay use XP. Also new from Dell XP can be selected on any Latitude. I don't care much. PartitionMagic 8.0 takes care of Vista, will unhide the restore hidden partition as well so Vista would be truly gone. All necessary drivers are downloadable from Dell. So what op system comes with the PC isn't much of an issue. That ole Fdisk still works. My 17" screens are likewise set to 1280x1024. It's about all the eyes are up for. So I've struck WUXGA from the must have list. OK if I get it because it can be throttled back to WSXGA+ but not desired. Also struck the shiny screens from the list (TrueLife at Dell). Reading the reviews what I see is a lot of comments about glare plus we do no video processing here and our only gaming has to do with radio. Outside of a hand at Doom 2 every 6 months for the target practice. Thanks for your info. 73 Art Richard B. Drake wrote: Hi Art,[snip] |

My outgoing Latitude C610 does SXGA 1280x1024. That's about as small as I want it with my reading glasses on. If I can score a WUXGA at good price with the other goodies, fine, but I decided not to pay for more than WSXGA+. Dell's had its hits lately on service as well. I don't have to spend much time on the service line unless some electronic part lets all the smoke out so am OK there. Last years model D820 is readily available on ebay and also from the Dell refurb site, first D8xx to use the 2 processor chip, I decided on that. The reviews say the two processor chip runs ordinary stuff about 1.5x faster than the equivalent cost P4M in the predecessor D810. Huh...D810 to D820 to D830 encompasses about 1.75 years. Obsolete before sold. No future in buying new. Tnx again Art Dave Bernstein wrote: I haven't used a Dell Latitude in 5 years; they were fine then, but I found IBM Thinkpads a definite improvement. Re: Dxlab and Multipsk?
1. if Commander is running, MultiPSK uses it to track your and to
change your transceiver's frequency and mode 2. if DXKeeper is running and you log a QSO in MultiPSK, the QSO will be recorded in DXKeeper 3. if SpotCollector is configured to use MultiPSK as its digital mode application (Config window, General tab, Interoperation panel), then if you double-click a digital mode Spot Database Entry, SpotCollector will convey the frequency and digital mode to MultiPSK, which will configure itself to decode that mode and direct Commander to QSY your transceiver to the correct frequency and transceiver mode -- which if the spotted frequency is accurate results in decoded text from the spotted station appearing in MultiPSK. 73, Dave, AA6YQ --- In dxlab@..., "zl1gbb" <zl1gbb@...> wrote: references to using Multipsk with it.
