QRZ subscription value?
I'm getting back into the hobby and am interested in DXing.? I currently have little interest in QRZ awards.? I'm guessing that QRZ will help with information useful when seeking QSL cards from ops who don't use LotW.? LotW is my primary QSL route.? More than 10 years ago I sought paper QSL cards and expect to do so now for needed QSLs.? I just received a WAZ award due to my old QSL card collection and LotW. Is QRZ relevant today and is there an advantage to buying a Premium subscription to avoid ads?? I'm considering getting a subscription and API to use in DXKeeper/DXLab. Thanks for your insight and experience. Rich, NU6T |

If Yes, then I get a DXKeeper QRZ Subscriber login text box that says "No QRZ callsign specified.? I do not currently subscribe to QRZ. On closing this text box a new DXKeeper text box states, "Callbook error when looking up VU2ELJ: Program Error." How do I cure this and?delete?the old log? Since I'm not very far into it, starting over seemed like a good idea and might be good.? That QSO was one of my first and I sure could have made errors in the contest log that I uploaded to L32.? I could well be user errors.? I made another contact in that same contest on a different band with KR1STA and there were no errors in that part of the upload. I don't understand why I could not import the ADIF Master "one contact" log.? Again, I'm trying to understand what I did wrong at this point.? Seemed like a no-brainer. I'm getting a QRZ warning and need to step through the import process.? I was going to read the manual to find how/where I fix the QRZ issue.? A point to the right reading would be helpful.? I'm guessing I need to input my QRZ PW or something into DXLAb somewhere. Thanks Rich, NU6T On Thu, Mar 13, 2025 at 3:13?PM Dave AA6YQ via <aa6yq=[email protected]> wrote: + AA6YQ comments below --

New user here. + Welcome to DXLab, Roland! Was able to install DXLab applications and had no problem connecting Commander to the Flex 6400, by specifying the IP and Port address. Upgraded to the new Commander today and I have lost the connection. Followed documentation to run older exe file to no avail. + What happen when you run the previous version of Commander? If I go to ports and select a port with 19200 - 8,none,2,off,on, nothing connects. I am running Windows 11 and did not upgrade. Failed to do a restore point before upgrade of Commander. I am at a lost! Any ideals what I can try. + Commander 16.0.3 successfully connects to my Flex 6500 via TCP. So that I can see what's going on, please do the following: 1. start Commander 2. on the Configuration window's General tab, check the "Log debugging info" box 3. terminate Commander 4. start Commander 5. wait 1 minute 6. on the Configuration window's General tab, uncheck the "Log debugging info" box 7. attach the errorlog.txt file from your Commander folder to an email message, and send the email message to me via aa6yq (at) ambersoft.com 73, Dave, AA6YQ |

I have a log started, but would like to start a fresh log. I think I can simply rename my existing log and create a new log with the original name of my old log...Yes? + There is no reason to do that. In DXKeeper, simply correct the DXCC Prefix in the imported QSO by changing it from K to KH6. + Just to be clear, the root cause of this situation is that the logging application from which you exported the ADIF file allowed you to log a QSO with inconsistent components: a DXCC entity of "Continental US" with a State of "Hawaii". DXKeeper imported the ADIF record, and informed you of the inconsistency so that you could correct it. DXKeeper couldn't automatically perform the correction because it has no way of knowing which item is incorrect: the DXCC entity, or the State. 73, Dave, AA6YQ |

开云体育Agree with all Joe. ?I was just alerting folks that they might want to check LOTW online to get the latest date if it is a station they are interested in. ?Ordinarily I would disregard this station based on the 2023 last upload date shown in DXView or JTAlert. ?Also these would never show up as an LOTW call in SpotCollector unless someone is using a long time frame to determine active LOTW stations.Tom-KQ5S

Re: Invalid administrative subdivision errors
开云体育if he is using Adif Master, that is much better then just a text editor for most.its quite easy to edit a text file and miss the character count, which will cause errors. On 3/13/2025 4:23 PM, ve3ki via

开云体育I was thinking if its only 2 entries, you could just re enter them directly in the log.if you are trying to tweak an adi file you need to change <CONT:2>NA<CQZ:1>4<DXCC:3>291 ?<ITUZ:1>7? ?? to ?? <CONT:2>OC<CQZ:1>31<DXCC:3>110? <ITUZ:2>61 On 3/13/2025 4:15 PM, Richard Hill via

Re: Invalid administrative subdivision errors
ADIF files are text files. You can edit them with any text editor, including Notepad.
?
To edit a text file whose filename does not end in .txt, start Notepad, use the File > Open menu item in Notepad, then near the bottom to the right of the filename, in the box that says "Text Documents (*.txt)", click on the down arrow at the right-hand end of the box and change it to "All Files (*.*)", then find the file and open it. When saving the file using the File > Save As menu item, in the box immediately below the file name called "Save as type:", make the same change to prevent Notepad from tacking an extraneous .txt onto the filename.
?
To attach the contents of a small text file to a message here, simply open the file in Notepad, select the part you want to attach, and copy and paste it into the text of the message.
