Spot Collector Spot Notes Mode Override

Now that WSJT-X has a new FT8 mode, SuperFox it might be useful if Spot Collector recognized SFH or S/FH or similar in a spot's notes as an FT8 mode to override the subband mode as it already does for FH, F/H and fox hound.

I have seen numerous spots of the current VK9XU dxpedition with "SFH" in spot notes with them operating outside the usual FT8 frequencies.

You will have to do setup from scratch if you have no Workspace backup. If you have even an old Workspace backup you may be able to use it if a lot of settings you may never or seldom change anyway to save some time.

Are you installing on a fresh copy of Windows (or a copy with
a fresh registry due to a Windows reset)?

If so, follow the recommendations here:

to save your database and configuration files.  Then do a
fresh install of DXLab Suite on the new PC and copy the
files saved from the old backup.

Unfortunately I don't have a latest & greatest registry backup from
DXLAB.You will need to generate screen layouts, rig choices in Commander,
and other configuration items (e.g. Award objectives, etc.) from
scratch as those items are stored in the Registry.

Occasionally I click on the “Broke” tab in DXKeeper to see what I need to fix.? I found several QSOs today that would not allow me to fix them.? I’ve adjusted the spectrum section to use a black background. ?The waterfall’s blue color on a black background is fine, but there is no way to adjust the white color between the?spectrum and the waterfall.?? So basically, I have a large white rectangle in the middle of my screen. Most of the other DXLab programs have a more grey background. ?Anyway, it isn’t the end of the world.??

I don't know how or why, but an icon for Launcher has showed up on my start page in W11.   And it works.  So let's end the conversation on this topic.
 
There is a new topic.  As I'm trying to set up DXLab on the new W11 computer, OneDrive has grabbed all of the apps within DxLab.  I didn't ask it to.  It must have assumed I wanted it to.
 
Now when I try to start DXKeeper, DXK tells me that C:\DXLab\DXKeeper\Databases does not exist.  It does, but not on OneDrive!  Why should OneDrive be the first place the computer looks?  If I click OK, DXK goes an gets a backup of my log from DXlab\DXK\Backups but the one it keeps finding is not the most recent log.  For some reason it is an older one that is missing a lot of Qs.
 
Can I copy my most recent log from \Databases to \Backups Using Filer Explorer?  Or does DXK have to make the backup?  If the latter, can I delete backed-up logs that aren't the most recent?  The file dates don't seem to be controlling things.  Can I copy a log file (and a correct backup) from the retired W10 machine using File Explorer and a thumb drive?  
 
This sisn't your baliwick, but another ham might be able to help:  How do I get OneDrive to stop interfering?  There are warnings that if I delete DXLab from OneDrive, it will be deleted from my computer.

+ You don't want any DXLab applications installed on OneDrive. Use the Windows Control Panel to uninstall each of your DXLab applications. 

+ Then install the DXLab Launcher. By default, it installs your DXLab applications in

C:\DXLab

+ but because you previously installed them on OneDrive, it may default there. This article shows the sequence of windows that will be displayed when you're installing the Launcher:

+ When you reach this window

+ carefully inspect the Directory panel. If it doesn't specify

C:\DXLab\Launcher\

+ then click the "Change Directory" button and specify 

C:\DXLab\Launcher\

+ After you have the Launcher running, review the "Program Path" shown  for each application on the "DXLab Apps" tab of the Launcher's Configuration window. Each Program Path should specify an appropriate sub-folder of

C:\DXLab\Launcher\

+e.g. for DXKeeper

C:\DXLab\Launcher\DXKeeper\DXKeeper.exe

+ and for DXView

C:\DXLab\Launcher\DXView\DXView.exe

+ Don't direct the Launcher to install a DXLab application unless its "Program Path" is appropriately specified.

Didn’t unclick the “Enable” button in the World Map/DX Atlas panel that made my DXAtlas stop loading, either, but I managed to find that on my own.  Seems like it all started around the time I installed the latest version of wsjtx, but maybe I just have a little gremlin in the machine…

FX-4CR Rig Control

I just got a FX4-CR V.3 (latest with USB-C) and trying to get rig control working. The radio manual says to use the Kenwood 590S and the settings are 115,200, 8/2/none and RTS-ON. When I do that in USB mode (or any mode) the radio will transmit and not unkey until I've turned RTS=OFF. Another thing when I went to reinitialize it does at times read the frequency even though in transmit mode.

I know this is not a popular radio, but I've sort of run out of ideas. Here's a screenshot of the settings:

1. terminate DXKeeper without changing anything

2. place your log file (the .mdb) in a zip archive, attach the archive to an email message, and send the message to me via
