Re: Problem creating DXKeeper User Field

+ AA6YQ comments below

Thanks, Dave.
Actually, I have been able to restore my prior workspace from where it was saved to an external drive.

+ Great!

When it came back, everything looked OK EXCEPT that the DXKeeper user fields came back with captions but no drop down lists, so I'm still at a loss as to how to re-create the lists.

+ For a user-defined item whose Style selector is set to List, click the "Set list" button to the right of the Style selector. In the "Select file from which to load a list of values..." window, navigate to the folder containing the file of list entries, and double-click on the entry for that file.

Re: Updating Logged QSOs to Reflect Status Downloaded from IOTA

+ AA6YQ comments below

I successfully entered my call for the activations, now I have just one little glitch. I set up a filter for the 6m band, and when using the filter, the IOTA Progress button shows all my VHF IOTA confirmations quite accurately. I guess I also need to set up a filter to disregard 6m contacts to run the Progress report for HF IOTAs? When I run the IOTA Progress for HF without a filter, the program inserts four 6m verified contacts, three in place of the correct HF verified QSOs, and one for an IOTA I've verified on 6m, but not on HF.

+ The definition of distinct HF and VHF IOTA awards was another surprise. My plan is to replace the "Progress" and "Submission" buttons in the IOTA panel on the Main window's "Check Progress" tab with "HF Progress", "VHF Progress" , "HF Submission" and "VHF Submission" buttons; that will require making tab a bit wider to accommodate the wider button names.

+ In the meantime, appropriately filter the Log Page Display by band before invoking the Progress or Submission buttons. You can use a script to combine the filtering and progress reporting steps into a single function.

Re: Prefix Change, special event.

+ AA6YQ comments below

3 Times per year we have the opportunity to use the AX prefix.
I did it once before and the headaches it created with respect to logging and reporting drove me bananas.
There must be an easier way that I am missing.
If I make a new log, will that save all the QSL config data, I.E. will my TQSL data, eQSL.CC, QRZ, etc for AX5OM be saved within that log file?
Hence, on the day, I just select the AX5OM log file from QSL Config Log Tab?

+ In general, Award Progress Reports assume that all QSOs within a log are valid, so all QSOs made from the same DXCC entity should be recorded in the same log file. Specify the "Station Callsign" you're using in the upper-left corner of the Configuration window's Defaults tab. You can exclude QSOs made from specific locations from being considered for IOTA, Marathon, VUCC, and WAS award to comply with their rules. To see your award progress for a specific Station Callsign, filter the Log Page Display to contain only the relevant QSOs before invoking the progress report; if you'll be doing this frequently, create a script that combines the filtering and reporting steps.

+ Each of Club Log, eQSL, LoTW and QRZ have different requirements for dealing with different Station Callsigns:

+ Club Log: specify the station callsign for "upload" and "sync" operations on the "QSL Configuration" window's "Club Log" tab.

+ eQSL: setup an additional account for each station callsign, specify the appropriate username and password for "upload" and "sync" operations on the "QSL Configuration" window's "eQSL" tab

+ LoTW: obtain a Callsign Certificate for each station callsign, specify the appropriate "Limit sync operations..." and "station callsign" settings on the QSL Configuration window's LoTW tab.

+ QRZ: setup an additional Logbook for each station callsign, select the appropriate "QRZ Logbook" and specify the correct API Key on the QRZ tab of the QSL Configuration window's LoTW tab.

+ Details are here:

Re: Progress report

As shown by the WAB entry in the large table in

and as stated in the description of the WAB Progress Report in

WAB squares should be recorded in each QSO's Region item:

You recorded WAB squares in a user-defined item.

The procedure I posted for you back in July copies copies the WAB squares you logged in each QSO's user-defined item to its Region item so that the WAB progress report will work correctly. You need only execute this procedure once:

1. review the "WAB Square" format to be sure that what your recorded in the user-defined item your created complies with that format

2. filter the Log Page Display to contain all QSOs that contain a "WAB Square" in your user-defined item; you didn't say which user-defined item you're using to record WAB squares, so I can't give you the exact SQL expression with which to filter the Log Page Display. It will look like

LEN(App_DXKeeper_User_Defined_X)>0

where X is the number of the user-defined item you used.

3. review those QSOs to make certain that all are in Britain

4. make a backup copy of your log

This is a step that is always taken before using the "Modify QSOs" panel to modify many QSOs. On the Configuration window's Log tab, click the "Backup Folder" panel's Backup button

5. use the "Advanced Sorts, Filters, and Modifiers" window's "Modify QSOs" panel to copy the contents of your user-defined item to the
Region item APP_DXKEEPER_REGION in each QSO in the Log Page Display:

5a. set the "Item Name" selector to APP_DXKEEPER_REGION

5b. set the "Item new value" to < App_DXKeeper_User_Defined_X> where X is the number of the user-defined item you used (same as in step 2 above)

5c. click the Mod button

6. check your results in the Log Page Display to make sure you are happy with them

7. click the WAB button "Other progress reports" panel on the Main window's "Check Progress" tab.

I received your instructions to create a WAB report 22/07/2024.

With a hughe delay, i started today with this operation, after a fresh startup of the PC.

But there are questions, because i'm affrayed to mash-up things. (Not an IT'er !) I regret it.

In step 2 i filtered and noticed 1342 items containing a WAB square in Britain.

Then in step 4 i should make a backup copy of my log. Knowing that a backup is created every time i close down, is it still needed at that moment? Most recent backup created yesterday at close-down of the station.

If really necessary, how do i make the copy while all the usual screens are opened?

In step 5, if i understand well, do i have to copy every singel QSO one by one? 1342 willtake time!

Thanks for your support Dave.

I have 557 QSOs with WAB references. I have a UDI in my advance filters, captured < WAB >.

Filtering via UDI shows 557 QSOs.

This morning i tried to make a progress report WAB.

Surprise: using the <WAB> button shows only one single QSO in the report.

The button <user> togheter with the selected UDI, shows 409 different WAB references.

The button WABP works fine (10). IOTA works fine (356). DXCC works fine (263). Sota works fine (679). Etc.

What am i missing? From wich source the progress report <WAB> is generated?

"The WAB button generates a text report from QSOs in the Log Page Display showing progress towards the Worked All Britain awards based on each British, Scottish, Welsh, Northern Irish, Guernsey, Jersey, and Isle of Man QSO's WAB square specified in its Region item."

The manual that came with the X6200 from Radioddity also has the CI-V commands for the X6200 (mostly that same as X6100). I can scan and send them if it's legaly.
