OK, I hopefully learned a lesson today.
I worked a station on FT8. I have WSJT-X set to import automatically. I noticed immediately that it didn't log it.
I checked, I have import set to +/- 2 minutes.
+ There are two supported interoperations between WSJT-X and DXLab: direct, and via JTAlert, as introduced here:
+ Neither of them involving configuring WSJT-X to "import automatically".
