How will the use of different monitors (number, resolution etc.) between the 2 PCs affect the transfer?? Especially when loading the workspace?? Beyond perhaps the need to rearrange the various DXLab windows on the new PC?
+ Each DXLab application stores the XY coordinates of each of its windows in the Windows Registry. A Workspace populated with the settings of one or more applications thus contains the window positions from all of those applications. Restoring that workspace on a new computer and then starting DXLab applications there will faithfully reproduce your previous window layout - in terms of XY coordinates.
+ That's fine if your old and new systems each have a single monitor. If either or both have more than one monitor, the result may not be to your liking because of the way Windows uses XY coordinates to encode monitor selection.
+ To update the window positions of each of your DXLab applications on your new computer,
1. terminate all running DXLab applications except the Launcher; if the Launcher isn't running, start it
2. direct the Launcher to start a DXLab application whose window positions you haven't yet updated; if there aren't any, this window position update procedure is complete
3. near the lower-left corner of the Launcher's Configuration window, click the
Reset button; the Launcher will direct the running application to place all of its windows in the upper-left corner of your primary monitor
4. move each of those windows to the desired monitor and location on that monitor
5. close each window that you don't want automatically opened when you start the application
6. terminate the application
7. go to step 2
+ The above procedure is now step 11 in
