Re: DX Labs commander accessibility issues

Yes, that is one issue and the tab order in the configuration dialog is wonky too. Thanks for that input.

Hi Dave, thank you very much for the response. You can obtain a free license of JAWS, good until June 30 at:

Even the demo version of JAWS runs for 40 minutes at a time.

Also there is a free screen reader known as NVDA which can be downloaded at:

Look for the check box called "NV Access".

If you are interested in improving the accessibility I would definitely be willing to provide you with a full JAWS license.

+ You are the third ham to ask for JAWS support in the past 20 years. I will review the tab order in Commander's Configuration window, but DXLab applications are built with Microsoft tools that do not provide me with the ability to influence the JAWS-relevant behavior of controls.

Hi Dave,

I have used NVDA for checking accessibility of the WSJT-X UI and find it easy to use. One thing I have noticed is that control labels rendered from rich-text strings are read as html strings including the metadata.
That may not be relevant in your case but perhaps using bold text or similar as an impact on screen readers. I note with NVDA the tab names in the DX Lab Suite applications do not get read, perhaps that is what is causing problems for Frank?
