and Thanks also to Gil for his input... and the reason Gil is that Microsoft keeps putting out this Bloatware that keeps getting larger and I get very little for it. When I migrated to DX Lab a year or so ago I had plenty of extra RAM I could even run a few extra programs when necessary. Now as it stands I have 12k or RAM left after booting and running DX Lab and as a result the program keeps swapping parts of DX Lab out to disk.
Besides UNIX/LINUX etc. runs considerably faster and is more flexible. The one caveat is that you occasionally have trouble getting drivers for a particular piece of hardware....
You may be able to run the Solaris version of VirtualBox on
OpenIndiana, but you still have to run Windows in a VM, and that VM
needs whatever amount of memory Windows needs to function and support
the DXLab Suite.. and now you need memory for *two* operating systems
instead of one. It seems unlikely to solve your problem.
How much memory do you have?
