Hi All... I noticed that in the membership I am the only one who has
my read e-mail addy showing. Have I done something wrong and how can
I correct it? I just want to fit in! :)
Blessings,
Suzanne

Re: Fact check

Thanks for catching that, Gary. Yes, that is what it says. In April.
Don't worry that I will think you are stepping on my toes. LOL. I
didn't even notice, and, if I did, I wouldn't care.

Re: Love it or forgive it

Hello drpaulc@...,

In reference to your comment:

¨¨ after 3 years of studying ACIM..I have found it can be
¨¨ summarised in? 5 words

after 15 years since I found the Course, the five words I come up with are

1--This world is not real

2--There's no me or you

3--I want to be special

4--Not ready to go home

5--This ego is a bitch

:-)

As you can see I am past the pink cloud ...

in the phase of the dark night of the soul

I know there is no world

But still very fearful of God

:-)

you'll see message index. Where it says msg# put the number 1 in

Hi Martha. I think some of the confusion came from the fact that Nel
is listed as "YoungNel" and since the members are given
alphabetically, he's listed in the member directory last. Love and
peace, Gary.

Cool post, Gino. Some of your questions are too mind boggling
for me at the moment, but I'll think about them. And I'm honored by
your comments about the end of the book, even though I didn't think
of it. I know I couldn't have made it all come together like that.
I'll run your title by the Holy Spirit.
You know it might help if a couple of ascended guys would stop
by and tell me what to do. (hint, hint...) Of course people might be
suspicious if it took me nine years to write the first one and it
only took me nine weeks to write the second one. (LOL) I wouldn't

bound by it. Later, Gary.

Hey Gary!

I just (yesterday) finished "Disappearance" -- after sitting on that last unread chapter for a couple of weeks, not wanting the book to be "over", as I mentioned previously.... ?But all (or at least, most) good things must come to a conclusion.

I will tell you (without giving anything away, to anyone else who might not yet be finished reading) that the ending was surprising -- and, surprisingly moving. Very well done! ?And yes, I will undoubtedly read the book a second time, and I'm sure I'll pick up a few things I missed the first time around.

Hey; how 'bout a sequel?? ?"The Reappearance of The Disappearance"!!! ?(Next summer's hot new bestseller...)

* * *

Speaking of the "Newsgroup from Heaven"/"Newsgroup from Hell"/"Newsgroup from Limbo" -- I have had a chance to go over there a few times recently, to see what's going on (after Carrie was nice enough to send me directions on getting there); ?and I have to say that, for a newsgroup that's supposed to be at least tangentially a Course-related group, there is an awful lot of turmoil going on there... ?The rancor! The nastiness... the foul language, the name-calling, the accusations..! ?I mean, a lively discussion is one thing (and we've certainly had our share of that here), but the overwhelming negativity at TRCM is just draining... ?Maybe my earlier joke (attempt) about "from limbo" isn't all that far off the mark -- maybe it's as if the Holy Spirit part of so many of the people over there is what brought them to an ACIM-related group in the first place; but the ego part is what's causing the continuous, endless battling... so they are "stuck in limbo", between Heaven and Hell...

* * *

Hey: there's something I brought up a while ago here, that sort of fell through the cracks... ?I was wondering if anybody had any thoughts about the nature of our experiences in different lives, as seemingly different individuals. ?I understand that, ultimately, we are really One, seeming to experience different human lives at different "times". But there does seem to be some kind of "soul path" (I think that was the term I used), sort of how the "me" (Gene) that I think myself to be now, was also the "me" (with different names) that I recall from "other lifetimes". ?How Arten was Thaddeus in the past, and now he is supposedly living a human lifetime in our present, as someone that Gary knows (but doesn't know who it is, yet)... How any of us who die before reaching enlightenment will live yet another life as a human, extending further this chain of lives, this "soul pathway"... not just "random" lifetimes being experienced by the One, but seemingly "individually linked lifetimes" with a common experience being experienced by an "individual soul".

I know this gets into the area where maybe our brains run out of appropriate words to use... At least, mine does! ??But does anybody have any bright ideas as to how our experience of this plays out, in the overall scheme of things?

* * *

OK, Gary & Gang; I look forward to hearing back from you.

But no rancor!! ?(Kidding, I'm kidding....)

Bliss & Harmony,

Gene

(Gene B. -- the "other" Gene)

{Hey; you know, many of my friends often call me "Gino" -- so feel free to use that, if you wish to differentiate...}

Re: Fact Check

I meant that she said that previously when she looked Nelson's picture was NOT there. Sorry about the editing. I'm at work and am in a real rush as I have other stuff to do. Went too fast.

LindaL wrote:
And yet a teeny tiny addition. The whole reason I mentioned the hood of the car, etc. is that Carrie said that previously when she looked, Nelson's picture was on the profile, but when she looked later, it was there. I KNOW the picture was there and it could not have not ever been there since 1997, so I would tend to surmise that what happened was similar to my neighbor and the hood. And just because the Course tells me that the world is my classroom and that my responsibility is the Atonement for myself - not Carrie or my neighbor - but myself, I look to see where I am doing it as well. And if I don't think I am somewhere, I am kidding myself - such as in the story where I told Frank about how I didn't think I lied. Yeah, right. I lie to myself! It's the things that I most don't want to see in myself that bug me the very most and that are the hardest to see in myself. LindaL wrote:

Last month my car was making a terrible noise. My neighbor got all worried about it. She asked me what was wrong, and I told her I did not know. She asked me several other times in the next 15 minutes, too, what was wrong, and, again, I told her I did not know. I don't think that point ever penetrated! (Meanwhile, I was thinking to myself where I do the same thing sometimes in other larger perhaps sitatuations - where I just don't get the point.)
?
She had started out by asking me if I had been in an accident. I replied no. She said that she saw that my hood was smashed in. I replied that that had happened around four years ago when the previous owner had owned the car. She told me in effect that that couldn't be true, because she had never noticed it! LOL
?
I am seeing exactly the same thing here. Nelson's picture was there all along, but since Carrie had not noticed it, it could not have been there!
?
Now why did my neighbor not notice it before then? Maybe because she had no reason to see it; she wasn't looking for it. It wasn't until she heard the noise and her mind was searching for a reason as to why the noise was occurring. The only visible thing she could see - as she was now looking harder than previously - was the hood. It was in fact that the heat shield was loose - underneath the car, but she jumped to her own conclusion with the first thing that came to her mind - and would probably swear in a court that that was true - that my car had not had a hood damaged before she went looking for the reason for what was upsetting her.
?
Now then, this is a perfect setup for using the world as a classroom. "I am not upset for the reason that I think." Firstly, the hood was not the reason that she was upset. Was the heat shield the reason she was upset - the thing she could not even see. Symbolically, it is a good symbol, but it goes beyond that. I cannot speak for my neighbor, but when I do that - and I do! in other things - everybody does whether they can see it or not - it is because I am wanting to turn attention away from keeping an inner "ear" focused on Jesus or the Holy Spirit.
?
So this whole thing is symbolical to me and a reminder for myself. And I am not forgetting to laugh at myself when I do it. To take it seriously would be not to forgive myself.Watching it and recognizing it for what it is, I can be more alert to catching my self when I do it the next time. Yes, making assumptions. Miguel Ruiz wrote 1/4 of a book on not making assumptions in The Four Agreements? - with it being one of four agreements to work on all through life. Don't take things personally. That's another one. I am being reminded of this, too, as I watch and learn.

He joined on 5/19/03 and edited his profile on 12/01/97. He is the
earliest member of the group obviously. So his picture and all the
info about him has not been touched since 12/01/97 - way before
Gary's book was published! (I'm writing this message from the group
home, which has no formatging abilities or I would have bolded this.)

I joined on 5/17/03, and my profile was last edited on 7/15/03. (I
eliminated some interests.)

Karen Renard joined on 5/19/03 and last edited her profile on
4/02/02.

Gary Renard joined DU on 5/19/03 and last edited his profile on
5/19/03.

The evidence is in!!! There is no way possible that Karen or Gary or
anyone else could be the owner or moderator of this group! Nelson
posted at least 3 messages before they ever even joined! I even
joined before them!

That's not true, Carrie. I asked you to read the entire book
first and then ask your questions. It seems as though every day you
want to say something that isn't true. For example:

I also don't think it's coincidental that Nelson posted
there, "out
of
nowhere" (back from vacation) right after his existence as a real
person was
questioned.
If he loves the book- which he read before it came out to the
public, so
much he started the egroup (before it came out to the public) I
wonder
why
he's not right there, in the middle of the discussions about it,
and
attempting to answer questions that Gary is too busy for?

Carrie, the book was shipped to the first Internet buyers at
the
end of February, 6 weeks before Nelson started the Yahoo Group in
mid-April, which was just before I started participating on another
board at the Fearless Books Website. I didn't participate in the
Yahoo
Group at first. Nelson's name (with a star next to it) was there
from
the beginning (even though you made up the idea here that it was
just
put there recently). The names are in alphabetical order, and
YoungNel starts with a Y. That's why he's listed last. I believe
he
has posted a few times, (some people don't like to post that much,
they just like to read the messages). You can check the archives.
And
why should he answer questions about the book? It's not his book.
Anyway, I'm sure EVERYBODY has already checked his IP address.
(LOL)
Nelson's probably a good guy, Carrie. You should think about
people's feelings sometime. I don't have anything against you, but
I
don't think you serve anyone with constant misinformation. I
thought
that was Gene's job. In any case, I still love you like a sister
and
welcome you to ask your questions after you've read all of the
book,
which is the stated purpose of the Yahoo group. Love and peace,
Gary.

Thanks, Judy. I read those two paragraphs (T193-194, second edition)
and found them to help me too. Blessings to you, Gary.
