TR-7 will not fully volume down to zero audio


 

Hello all, is it common for a TR-7 not to go fully quiet when the volume is turned all the way down?

The volume pot doesn't go all the way to zero. If you can find the part, you can change the pot.

Very late serial numbers did come with a better pot that went completely silent at full CCW.

Or you can just crank the RF Gain all the way down to silence the RX.

One other issue I noticed, I can slightly hear my voice in my
speaker when transmitting.
Has anyone encountered this situation? If so are there any suggestions to eliminate this problem? Or is there any more information I need to provide?
