On eBay, never equate selling/listing price with 'worth'.

For an example, look at the absolutely stupid listing prices that
some jackass in Australia has on his/her Drake and other listings.

There is also a character on Vancouver Island who regularly lists
old Swan gear, and occasionally Drake gear, for completely absurd
prices.? And his shipping charges are even more insane.? The listings
do come and go, so maybe there are people out there stupid enough
to pay those ridiculously inflated prices.? Or maybe he just hauls
the stuff to the dump.? What I can't figure out is how he acquirs
it all in the first place.? He is not exactly located in the middle

Re: Stupid eBay Pricing

Something is "worth" exactly what the buyer pays for it.

Sometimes that's $50, sometimes that's $500.

I continue to be amazed at how many people are bothered by this.
If you don't want to buy it, move on! Not your monkeys, not your

But it does. When people pay these stupid prices, it drives up
the price for the entire marketplace, and that *does* affect

An insurance fraud investigator acquaintance of mine, once told us people with advertise (Then in local sales papers, like the Big Nickel) to establish an asking price, then ‘lose’ the item(s) and subsequentially claim a loss through the insuring insurance company.

He told us this was a fraud ‘game’ that was hard to prove, so hard, in? fact,? that the fraud carried over into housing and building insurance.? List for a ridiculous price, take it off the market, and later torch it? and claim the ‘established’ loss.

Also hard to prove…….

Eric!

Congrats on the late S/N TR4CW/RIT!!

This, according to Bill Frost,? was probably the last TR-4C built. Back in the Seventies, Drake records indicated that the last two built were shipped to Henry Radio in Los Angeles. This one had the highest S/N of the two. I am the original owner.

But....strange they used?stacks of 7-line gear in a commercial?setting when Drake was offering rack mounted SPR-4's (RR-1 and RR-2), rack mounted TR-7's with digital VFO's?(TR-4310), R-7's with digital VFO's?(R-4245) and several other earlier variants of those that were being used by marine stations, both shipboard and coastal (Radio Monaco).?
