Re: DRAKE USERS NET Update - 9 February 2025
William ¨C This looks to be a private message, but to the wrong person. I AM a ham, and a member of Drake-Radio, but not Ed. I think a note to Evan arrived in my inbox, as well. No worries, however

Re: DRAKE USERS NET Update - 9 February 2025
Ed, Sorry we missed you. Your call seems familiar - have you checked in before? If so, who was Net Control, if you remember? If there is a fellow out of the five if us that you hear well we can

Re: DRAKE USERS NET Update - 9 February 2025
Really poor band conditions down this way. I tried really hard but just couldn't pull net control out of the noise. Ed KG5UN Gulfport, MS

Re: R4C Notch filter
Sometimes, it will work well enough to make the desired signal easier to copy. I¡¯ve used the notch in that way lots of times. If you¡¯re doing a lot of SSB, you may want to find a 1.5 filter.

Re: R4C Notch filter
Bill, the notch, when adjusted properly has pretty good rejection ¡ª something like 40 dB or more. You may need to do an adjustment per the manual. I¡¯m trying to remember if the C still has the pot

7077 Mic results
Good day, everyone! I finally sat down and went through this 7077 mic. I removed the two series capacitors and resoldered the transformer directly to the element and directly to the cord that goes to

I think both kinds are now *** I worked for a telephone equipment manufacturer in the mid-70's. We had a rig for laser-trimming surface mount resistors on hybrids( small circuits assembled on ceramic

Re: Drake TR-7 - Noisy transmitter
That may well be true but I will add that my phone is much safer resting several feet away from the workbench. :) If I damage a Tascam I have plenty of spares and they were much cheaper than a new

Jim, An iPhone actually is a great and accurate test instrument. The project mentioned is measuring the sidetone frequency (unless I am mistaken?). Phones have a microphone and a display right there,

Re: T-4XC Final Cathode Resistors
Carbon comp resistors are sensitive to moisture as well as heat. The resistance to moisture depends a lot on the quality of the housing. About the best of the CC resistors is either Allen-Bradly or

Re: Drake TR-7 - Noisy transmitter
That depends. I prefer not to use my phone as a test instrument. It is a phone, not a Swiss army knife. Aside from that, it only does audio over Bluetooth unless I use a special adapter on the data
