Steve: Are you interested in an R7 project? I have one that is pretty good cosmetically, comes with the filters it originally came with, no noise blanker, It is disassembled. The PTO is rebuilt, I

Re: grounded grids vs stock Drake
I've been considering doing this, after a long stretch of keeping the grids slightly above DC ground. I've also been considering changing the bias to the stack o'zeners. I have a Harbach power supply

Re: Various Finds
I should mention that the TR7 I sold was off QRZ. No commission, I could use my choice in shipping and payment. Yeah, I love it when you can sell at a profit with low overhead. Basically, I enjoy

grounded grids vs stock Drake
Curious as to what should actually be expected regarding power gain going from the "floating" grids in L4B / L7 vs strapping the grids directly to ground.? I see 200 watt increase on one L7.

Re: 1-A on eBay
Nice! I put in a lowball bid in that range once on a TR7 fixer-upper from R&L Electronics. I was more trying to stir up some activity than anything else but I ended up buying it. There wasn't much

Re: 1-A on eBay
An old salesman once said "don't charge a fair price, charge what the market will bear". If someone wants to spend that kind of money on a 1-A, that's fine. If no one bites the price will be reduced.

Re: 1-A on eBay
I was really conflicted when I first saw the listing. $250? Scam! Scam! Scam! But I dug a bit deeper ... he put his name and call in the listing and the info lined up with whst was in the ISED

Re: 1-A on eBay
Why does it bother people when someone knows how to market something and makes a good profit? I don¡¯t understand the mindset. Having said that, such deals come up, even at hamfests. My first TR7

I wonder how hard it would be to design a "fake crystal"? Something with a synthesizer chip say an si570 or si5351a and a little tiny CPU to program it? USB socket at the top - you'd plug it into your

I'm in total agreement Jim. There's no doubt in my mind that a really nice 1-A would command a pretty high price! And eBay is a great place to sell rare or "one-off" stuff that will always have a
