I'm looking forward to getting the time to work on mine again. Mine's from late '57 and has no calibrator. As a subtype, it's the rarer of the two (though I would have preferred to have a later one both because of the calibrator and the fact that the documentation on the later ones is better!).
I'll take this opportunity to shamelessly request a VFO knob (the one that does the fine tuning). That dished shape is unique and I haven't found one yet.
As far as finding the 1-A's, you can always get lucky like I did. My friend had 3 of them and sold me the one I have for a damn good deal.

Better than some radios I have seen that have cleaned up well. I don't see any signs of rust on the front panel and the lettering looks pretty good. I'm a big fan of ebay sellers who do some cleanup on their offerings but in cases like this it is best not to try and risk damaging something.
