RV-75 only decrements
The RV-75 I am working on, only decrements it will not increment. Either way I turn it, it only goes down in freq. Any clues are most helpful.

Re: R-4B: Garbled Audio on 40m
Adjusting the coils is fairly easy.. unless..? someone has been there before. I had a 2B that was so mis-adjusted that I had to take it apart and adjust them to all be close to the same length first.

Re: Project 2B
Thanks for the reply, and good idea about the 3D printing. I've made an offer to the seller... don't know if it will be accepted or not.? If it is, I'll probably need lots of help getting it back in

And if I had bothered to look before "spouting"...well, you know the rest. Jim, I was just messing around but should have been more circumspect. Apologies¡ joseph n. graif k4jng

Re: RV-75 documentation
That's why I put your call in the file name. The "Bob" was just a mistake from reading the email thread too quickly. Corrected. 73 -Jim NU0C "Joseph K4JNG" <jgraif1@...> wrote:

Re: R-4B: Garbled Audio on 40m
Ideally, you set the pointer first, then tune in the calibrator, tune for zero beat and set the PBT to 12 o'clock, with the bandwidth at .4. If it is grossly out of adjustment, that may be difficult.

Mark, when you say you're distorted on SSB, is that your monitoring on another receiver or are others saying that your signal sounds distorted? Steve Wedge, W1ES/4 Time flies like an arrow. Fruit

Re: R-4B: Garbled Audio on 40m
Steve, Yes, I figured it was somewhat working when tuner is set to 4.8 kHz. Then it was a matter of adjusting it. But those coil adjusters had me stump. I would have never thought they were

Re: Project 2B
The knobs have become very tough to find. The 2-A and 2-B were the only sets that used exactly these knobs (I believe the 2-C and 2-NT -- which was built 7-8 years after the last 2-B have slightly

Re: R-4B: Garbled Audio on 40m
Ah, yes. There was a method behind my madness. 20m and above (in frequency), use USB for SSB. 40m and below use LSB. I guessed about the passband because you had said that it had been a problem on

Re: R-4B: Garbled Audio on 40m
Gary, I'm stuck on step 6 on the passband tuner alignment. It said to look for 4 slugs in the pass band tuner. I see 4 very thin threaded rods less than 1/16" appearing out of their holes in back of

Great! It seems strange that the drivers can fail in ways that are not a complete failure. Been there, done that. I agree that 600 mA is too much. These transistors are typically biased around 70 or
