Re: TR-7 missing digit's on display

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

The DR7 is such a fragile board, a true PITA to work on, I would leave it alone if it works. Those two capacitors are only there to prevent oscillation of the regulator and serve no function in offering the correct voltages on either end of the regulator, unless shorted of course.?

A working DR7 is a DR7 best left alone!

There is a metal tool used for stripping Romex type wire that ma work well for you. Kind of a narrow clamshell looking thing that is all metal and very reasonably priced

HI Mike¡.

?

Contact your closest electrical contractor and talk to one? of their technicians¡they have a tool, that is adjustable to remove wire jackets from all sizes of wires.

Give him/her a ?pack of beer or soda and he would probably strip a 500 foot roll of coax for you!? J? (Well..maybe no-o-t-t-t that much¡but¡.!!)

I think I could do this with two hands. ?Any ideas?

Re: TR-7 missing digit's on display

Well after goofing around with the voltage regulators connectors I now have display again. Do these yellow electrolytics look newer or are they original??

Not sure why the connectors didn't clean yesterday when I pulled out the board, but happy it's working. Now back to the 75A4 that someone rewired V5.?

Thanks,?

Re: TR-7 missing digit's on display

When you say "almost" it sounds like the displays are on and correct but DIM. If cleaning the connectors doesn't fix the issue, note that there is a 7805 regulator that only feeds the displays. It has the usual 10uf electrolytic cap on its output and probably one on its input. Might be time to break out ye old VM and check to see if you have 5 volts on the output of that regulator. I suspect those electrolytic caps may have finally given up.

Hey guys, went to use my TR-7 last night and found that the digital display was almost completely out, all the digits except the most right where gone.? It worked fine last time I used it, perhaps in September.? I pulled the rig out of the lineup and removed the display board, thinking cleaning the pins would fix it.? Put it back in and still the same.? I guess I should have pulled all the boards?? Am I on the right path or is there some other issue? Any and all advice appreciated.

Thanks,

Drake FS4 RF tune decal for R4 series receivers

When the FS4 is attached to a Drake Receiver , Drake supplied a decal to adhere to the RF tuning knob to help find the proper peak areas quickly. I am looking for a decal, copy or excellent image I can have a decal made. ?

I appreciate any help you can provide. ?

I placed 2 each 1N295's in the mail to you this AM. I think these are the spare 2 I bought for my W4 when I was having problems.? Enjoy

I'm fortunate in that this set seems to be unmolested AND has BOTH 500 Hz CW filters. Not bad for $80 at NEARfest a couple of years ago!

Cabinets Available

I need to get some of my volume cut down to a more reasonable level.

I have one C Line cabinet.? This fits either the T-4XC or R-4C, as Drake moved all side jacks and controls off of the sides -- enabling them to use just one set of cabinet bottoms.? No dents, some adhesives evident in various places and it looks like it had a minor respray.? No feet.? $30

R-4B cabinet.? Bottom has some denting around where the feet were and there are some marks/scrapes, here and there.? Not bad and I've seen much worse. Silkscreen on the side is good.? No feet.? $30

Prices are plus shipping and I use Pirate Ship for either USPS or UPS (your choice)? Either of these are very restorable.
