Re: L-4B Blower Wheels
I picked up the ten blower wheels today and they look great.? ?All have been spoken for.? A special thanks to Mark, WB0IQK who knew a ham that was able to machine the hubs to fit the motor.
I've attached a picture of a machined wheel to this posting.? These are the exact form and fit of the Drake OEM wheels.? ?I did some research on this blower wheel and found that Torrington orignally supplied these to GE for refrigerators in the early-mid sixties.? ?Guess it is no conicidence that the motor is also made by GE! Next month I will be making another batch of 10-20 of these replacement blower wheels.? The cost will be in the 35-40 dollar range, shipped.? At this cost, I am not making any money - rather doing this to keep these classic amplifiers running.?? I will be sending out emails to those that contacted me last month for one. 73 de NO8J |

Well, it might be because I had a wonderful experience ?of having to post something twice because the bloody form wasn’t to Customs Canada’s high standards.? When they were done on paper, they were fine. Nobody cared because it was $10 worth of “electronics parts”.? I hate bureaucrats and will avoid them as much as possible. The stupid burns.? I don't think there is a big problem with completing the forms.

From my experience, I will stand in line for a half hour just to GET the forms at my local post office. Then, I'll have to get back in line AGAIN after I fill out the forms. The choice is this, or just sell it within the US...which won't be a problem....and skip ALL the waiting in line, and just drop the package at a UPS store. So, it's just a matter of two choices! I fix these radios for fun and for hobby money.? I certainly don't get wealthy on it. I start with the specialist usergroups (Drake-radio, in the case of Drake equipment).? I price lower than I would price on eBay because - hey! -- I don't have to pay fees.? The biggest bugaboo is the 1099K that I[ll be getting from PP and EB.? With PP, I insist on friends & family (F&F) at this stage, as this is a closed group and we're all friends here.? Those who feel guilty can send a cheque.? Takes longer.? Shipping for anything larger than a couple of pounds is extra. Foreign postage isn't the problem.? Customs forms are the problem and I had a bad experience this past year where the item I gave away bounced back to me from Canada.?? Once I progress past the group, to QRZ and the like, and finally, to eBay, when I get to eBay, I sell domestically, only.? I had heard about problems with their international shipping and would just prefer to not go through it. My 2c... Steve Wedge, W1ES/4 Time flies like an arrow.? Fruit flies like a banana.

开云体育Know exactly what you're talking about.? Made a mistake shipping sheet of Lee Filter? for my tr7s and r7s from California . Had it shipped Ebay global by mistake. I always ship to Washington state. What would normally take 3 days max to Washington state took 6 weeks to be shipped from California to the east coast then it went into a worm hole and traveled around space then came out in Toronto then back to the worm hole.
