Re: 1-A on eBay
Re: the 1-A.... Keep in mind Country Joe went on the high side of $1000 US for his maybe 20 years ago. They are a lot more rare now. IIRC, the copper chassis on Joe's WAS exceptional. Mine will leave

Be careful swapping tubes in and out. Seal damage can occur with that stress in the pins. DAMHIKT. Steve Wedge, W1ES/4 Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana. Sent from [Proton

I'm looking forward to getting the time to work on mine again. Mine's from late '57 and has no calibrator. As a subtype, it's the rarer of the two (though I would have preferred to have a later one

Re: 1-A on eBay
Better than some radios I have seen that have cleaned up well. I don't see any signs of rust on the front panel and the lettering looks pretty good. I'm a big fan of ebay sellers who do some cleanup

Re: 1-A on eBay
That's why we are all different. I believe the price is grossly high for condition. However, a 1-A is sort of like the 1793 Chain Cent of Drake receivers. Steve Wedge, W1ES/4 Time flies like an arrow.

The main ¡°unobtanium¡± items in these are the knobs, cabinet and other trim items. Even the transformers can be worked out, if needed, though I¡¯m discovering that many 2-B transformers, etc. are

Re: 1-A on eBay
For a 2-B, I would agree. For a 1-A, it¡¯s a matter of rarity. The outside looks decent and I¡¯ve seen worse copper. A very nice, working example of this MAY be worth that sort of coin. For a ¡°pig
