Re: TR-4C INRAD #1901 & #1902
An alternate way of getting a Drake transceiver with nice audio response is to use a TR-3. Those old 4-pole filters have a more gradual slope in their passbands. Of course, you give up sidetone on CW

Stan, be sure to see the article on Ron's site about getting the textured finish. It's fairly easy to do but takes a little finesse. You basically use satin black spray paint and drill a small hole in

The good thing about painting the PS/Speaker cabinet, is that you don't have to deal with the 95,392 holes punched in it that are found in the other cabinets! John K5MO [email protected]>

I found one of those at a hamfest. Unfortunately, the inside was completely trashed, as was the meter movement, and I tossed it. I did get a nice leather case out of the deal. Steve Wedge, W1ES/4 Time

TR-4C INRAD #1901 & #1902
I have a TR-4Cw w/rit with the #1901 and #1902 filters, bringing the SSB bandwidth to 2.5KHz (vs the 2.1KHz stock). Also have a TR-4Cw (w/o rit) with stock SSB filters. I get *much better transmit

Drake MN7 Tuner Chassis Paint.
The Drake MN7 I intend to sell along with some other peripherals is in bad need of a paint job. Not necessarily scratched up but just worn and faded.

I don't think its "normal" for any radio. Lets see what others with this set have to say. Sounds to me like something heat sensitive. Maybe even a bad solder joint. Since it starts when the set is
