Re: Proper D104 Silver Eagle Terminal Wiring Drake

Thank You Mike for your detailed reply. This is the detail I was looking for to prevent any damage to the equipment.?
It is quite different from the way the old connector was wired. As the D104 was bought almost new in box there is no way of knowing what it used to be connected to being either a CB radio or Ham transmitter.?

Appreciate your taking the time.?

Kind Regards from BC?

The BLUE and RED wires make up the "PTT" switch.
?
The "RED" wire connects to the PL68 "TIP". T4XC
PTT relay B+ is on the microphone socket's "TIP".
?
The "WHITE" wire connects to the PL-68 "RING". Microphone's
audio amp output audio signal.
?
The "BLUE" and "SHIELD" wires connects to the "SLEEVE"
The BLUE and SHIELD connection to the "SLEEVE"
provided the RED PTT wire's ground return when the PTT bar is
squeezed.
?
Do not connect the "WHITE" wire to the PL-68 plug "TIP" as
the mic socket's "TIP" has the PTT relay's "B+" which can damage
the mic's audio amp or if the audio amp is bypassed, can damage
the microphone element.
