Re: Drifting Tubes

Richard, you seem to be? knowledgeable about tubes, so please let me throw a question at you.
A friend lent me a Westinghouse carton of 5? Westinghouse boxed NOS 6CB6 tubes. All have identical markings
and I'm guessing that they were all part of the same production batch.
The Gm value given in my 1964 RCA tube manual is 8,000 uMho. The values which I got on my Heath TT-1
tube tester were 8,000 ; 10,800 ; 8,800 ;? 8,800 and 10,500 uMho.? The average value is 9,400 uMho and
the spread is =/- 15%.
Does this seem reasonable to you ? In testing the few miniature glass tubes that I have, I've seen some with values as much as 50%
over the 'book' value. Thanks for any insight.? Ken, VE3FIT
