CW Operation with T4XC & R4C

Gentlemen,
I have a classic T4XC & R4C set up that I could use some advice with operating CW. Has anyone written a procedure to set them up for CW operation? I have read the paragraph in the T4XC manual stating that the transmitter is about 850 hz below the receiver frequency. I would like to use the receiver as the controlling VFO. The rig works FB on SSB but again there isn't the offset to be concerned with. I just have not had luck netting the T4XC & R4C for CW operation successfully. I am chasing my tail.
I would appreciate any information and comments.
