John...and Stephen.... Indeed this tx/rx combo is a sweet version of the C-line and it should sell quickly given its rarity. However, I'd offer some suggestions that may help sell it. 1) Correct the model # in the title.? It is a TR-44C...not a TH-44C.? As the TR-44C label IS on the side panel, it is clearly a true TR-44C and not a homemade clone using a Drake CA-1 stacking cabinet. 2) The pic of the added xtals are for fixed frequency xmit, and while interesting to have?from a historical perspective, doesn't indicate what frequency the receiver is capable of listening to, which would be of far more interest to hams.? List those, or show a pic of the R-4C with the xtal bank cover removed.? A pic of the inside of the R-4C showing the standard ham band xtals in place would also be helpful.? I see the optional band of 24.5 is shown in the xtal window....but is there really a xtal in the xtal bank? 3) Given the extent of the rust on the hardware in both rx and tx and on the rear panel?of the R-4C, some pics of the inside top of the?chassis would also? be very helpful.? This unit appears to have been "rode hard and put away wet", and as such likely requires considerable effort to make to work properly, and keep it working properly.? Keep in mind a lot of those rusty screws were used by Drake as grounding points! 4) A pic of the inside?would also show whether?the optional 4-NB noise blanker is in place...or not.?? 5) It is clear there are no rcvr optional filters in the rear sockets included.? I cannot see the R-4C serial number so cannot tell if there is an inside spot for the AM filter or not.? ?Again, a clear picture of the inside, and one showing the R-4C serial number clearly, would be helpful. 6)? Making this available to US hams would greatly increase the chances?of getting a sale.? Yes, shipping would be significant, but it can be done.? My TR-44C survived THREE trips across the Atlantic from Austria, even with extremely poor packaging.? The rectangular box was round when it got to me!? One number of my address was incorrect so it was returned to Austria on the 1st attempt!? Thank you Canada Post! The AC-4 PS was in the box too!? I was VERY lucky....I'll leave it at that. Good luck! 73 Peter VE7PS On Wed, Dec 6, 2023 at 10:09?PM Stephen G7VFY via <mister35mm=[email protected]> wrote:
