Interesting. Sounds like a common-mode issue.?
I will say that I notice very little hum with my old, beat-up Sony stereo ¡®phones on any of my Drake gear.?
Chasing that stuff at audio frequencies can be frustrating¡

Hi Steve...yes, probably the case here.? My 2-C sounds great when using speaker and most of my headphones, but I have a favorite pair of Kenwood HS-5 phones that are very sensitive but allow me to hear some slight hum in the 2-C.? The 2-C has recently been re-capped, with no apparent effect on the hum.? I do notice that if I use an external audio isolation transformer between the 2-C and the HS-5 headphones, I can get rid of the hum.? I also noted that there is absolutely no hum when using the HS-5s with my R4-B receiver.? Not a big problem at all but I was curious to see if any of the group has any past experience with trying to eliminate the 2-C hum.
