¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI found I have the MSDS for Tuner-Lub.? Its plain old Vaseline.? Many years ago Boonton Radio published some testing they had done on the oscillator turret switches on the Q-Meter and RX-Meter.? The best material at the time was white silicone grease, known as Lubriplate, second, but by not much, was Vaseline.? My experience is that after through cleaning with Deoxit a very small amount of Vaseline, Applied with a toothpick, will make the contacts stay clean for a long time.? Probably gives some protection against oxidizing.? ?Tuner Lub is somewhat hard to find but petroleum jelly is not. I don't know what exactly the Lubriplate of sixty years ago was but several products come under that name now. Vaseline is still the same old stuff.? Also seems to help with worn switches which have become noisy. |
