I guess I am the one to ask the "dumb" question.
Why in the world would I want to replace a 6EV7 with a 6AQ8 considering that a 6AQ8 (ECC85)? is more money than a 6EV7 and requires circuit modifications (albeit simple)
In most cases it's DOUBLE the cost of a 6EV7 and at Surplus Sales, they want $59 for one.? Is it that much better?
