Hi Everyone
I think I may have found the problem with the A segment.
First of all as Jim said it is a DF4NW as that is imprinted on the mounting board for the LED's with a 2006 date on it.
I did some research this morning and a company called Kingbright have a bllue LED which is almost identical it is an SA39 -11PBWA
Here in the UK RS Components have them in stock under part number 616 - 4576.
They are 9.9mm common anode devices.
They sell for approximately ?6 $8.
Back to the problem, I downloaded? the datasheet for this LED.
The LED schematic shows segment A is pin 10,?
Pin 10 to the centre wire was open circuit.
There are tracks on the back of the vertical board, the open circuit was right at the top where the centre wire solders in.
it then links to the other Mhz digit pin 10.
Of course that wasn't getting any data either.
I have replaced all three wires and repaired the cracked print.
Will put it back together later? today and see if I have solved the problem.
Boy have I learned a lot from this project.
Kind Regards
Mike
