I remember being at work in 1978, having a chat with a few fellow workers. Two of them were hams.

I announced to my ham friends that I had planned to purchase a new TR7, not specifically saying “radio”.

One of the non-hams quickly commented as to what a pile of junk the TR7 was (the car, of course) and that I should reconsider.

One of the ham friends quickly comforted my concerned friend that I was buying a TR7 radio, not a TR7 car, and that the TR7 radio was indeed a great choice.

I went on to purchase TR7 serial number 1207, pretty early version, and really enjoyed it. Every time Drake announced a service bulletin, I installed it. Sold the radio during my divorce, and ended up repairing that radio for the next 15 years for a friend to whom I sold it.

Just my piece of TR7 trivia.

Not putting the front back as I am changing the bulbs to blue LED's.

Then to the DR7 will check through again, thanks for the tip on checking the segments, will do that tomorrow.
If those LED's have a problem I will check out DF4NW to see if I can get a replacement.

Hoping it's just a solder joint.
