As far as birthdays are concerned, you will see in my article that even in the early part of the 19th century they were not even recorded. Nor were the maiden names of mothers.
This all serves to complicate research in England. Some priests did record the birth date on registers, later.
This is why most British researchers are so sceptical of the claims of descent from nobility and royalty seen from some non UK researchers.?
