DINAH and ICOM-706MK2G

开云体育

ICOM-706 MK2G has a 6 PIN DIN connector at the back of the radio.? It appears from the schematics that the pins are compatible with the DINAH.

I am using an RPI with Echolink/Allstarlink software installed. I connected the DINAH to my ICOM-706 MKIIG and the RPI.? To test the setup, I connected to my RPI node. It appears the ICOM-706 MK2G is transmitting.? I’ve adjusted the Squelch on the radio as high as possible to try to eliminate unwanted noise. This did not resolve the issue.? I need guidance as to what else I need to set to make the setup work properly.

?

FYI:? I was able to make the connection work on a different radio,? Kenwood TM-733A.

DINAH is compatible with the data jack wiring on the 706MK2G.?

?Is the red LED on DINAH on when the radio is transmitting?

What setting are you using for I) in simpleusb-tune.? It should be active low.

? What OS are you running Echolink/Allstarlink on?? Did you adjust the TX/Rx levels?
A DINAH is not "plug&play".? It must be properly setup.

Yes, this is well known.? But, the levels for the sound-modem adapter must be correctly set.
In Linux/Raspbian, alsamixer is used to properly adjust levels.

it is on an RPI - Debian.
Worked fine on my TM733A but when I changed radio to ICOM706MK2G I can't get it to work. I will revisit the TX/RX settings once I get a change. WIll keep you posted.

I will double check when i have change to tinker with the setup.? I will give an update once i revisit the setup.

The Icom706MK2G is initially (Factory) set in menu for 9600 baud. Check, or change Initial Set Mode Items, Menu #29 for 1200 baud.? Page 54 of the Icom 706MK2G manual.

Double check the In/Out levels of the DINAH - the 706 data port recommends a Data Input Level of 0.4 Vp-p (0.2 Vrms)?? Read the procedure on page 37 of the Icom 706MK2G manual.?

RTFM!

A setup procedure for the HamVOIP image is in the Files section of this group.
