开云体育Today is Yom Shlishi of Parshat Beshalach, a day in which there is a
Segula to daven for Parnasa.
The Segula, which comes to us from the Chassidic Rebbe, Reb Menachem Mendel of Riminov [a disciple of the Rebbe Reb Elimelech of Lizhensk], is to read "Parshat HaMan","Shnayim Mikra v'Echad Targum," reading the Hebrew verses twice and the Aramaic translation of Onkelos once. Parshat HaMan can be found in Shemot Chapter 16, verses 4 - 36 [the end of the chapter], or for those who prefer, from the middle of Chamishi - the Fifth Aliya - to the end of Shishi [the Sixth]. There are two methods of reading "Shnayim Mikra v'Echad Targum": One is to read through the entire portion, with the Hebrew once, then twice, and then read through the entire Targum. The other method is to read each verse at a time, twice in the Hebrew and once in the Aramaic, before going on to the next verse. There is also a custom to light a candle in his memory. You don't have to light it specifically on his yahrzeit - it can be done at any time. If you light a candle in his memory and have in mind a prayer, his zechut will help with that tefila.
