D-STAR 23cm Ops -

Thanks for participating in the D-STAR 23cm group.

If you're using or experimenting with D-STAR on 23m currently let the group know how you're using D-STAR
by sending a message to the group, adding a Link in the Links area and/or Uploading a File to the Files area.

Messages & articles about how you currently or plan to use the high-speed data capability would be of particualar interest to group memebers.

By the way, there are already dozens of messages in the group's message log and
numerous files & links in the Files & Links areas about all aspects of D-STAR.

Please also let other D-STAR users, including those don't yet use D-STAR on 23cm, who aren't members of the group know about the group.

Re: The DVAP and Using D-STAR Low & High Speed Data Presentations at ARRL/TAPR DCC 2012

Yes, been there! I'm able to send my message with every PTT from both the ID-1 and 9100, and I have a number of messages programmed that I switch between when I travel to other areas (location, email addy, etc). Using the software to set this function is definitely the way to go!

Re: Mounting bracket?

The mounting bracket for the IC-2200H/2300H fits the ID-1 perfectly with no modification necessary, MB-28H $27.95 from Universal radio.

Hello,
I am trying to find a mounting bracket for my ID-1 (the transceiver itself) It seems the MB-17A listed in the manual is discontinued.

What is the replacement mounting bracket and suggestions on where to order? HRO/AES/Giga/etc.

Thank you.

Kerry,
Thanks for the idea. ?I had thought of using aluminum angle iron for the 90* brackets.

I would think that icom would consider making a piece of bent metal for EVERY production line radio ?:)

Oh we'll, we are in a niche space aren't we...

Thanks again!

Hi Bill,

I did some work with Splat for linux a while ago generating a coverage chart here locally. less than 1.58uV was the figure I found, so I rounded up to -100dBm.

Have a look at my post from the 10th and 31'st Jan.

Hold up Joe
Something going on with the nj2dg network conection. Dont go nuts, trying to get it to work, right now.
Once i noticed that nj2dg was not on the 20A reflector, I started to scratch my head. So i gave the dd a shot. it looks like i am handshaking with with the repeater but no internet connection. I would say keep checking the reflector status site on the net. and dont try DD until, you see the stack back on the reflector. My guess is that they have a problem with there internet connection.
Looks like Murphy is kicking you in the pants.

Thanks Jimmy! Plan on taking one of my ID1's to work this coming week and playing with these settings. Its about 17 miles from Martinsville, but I have access to the roof tops which should help. At 12 watts I think I should hit the repeater. I'll let you know how I make out.

best way to set up the rig is with a computer. however i have to use an xp mchn, because i cant find 64 bit drivers.
to work martinsville dont even try if you do not have a good siginal
check out the sig on 1.2 dv first.
1284.000 dv neg split down 12.000

settings for nj2dg DD
freq 1250.000
mode DD
RP RPS Must be RPS
offset 0.000
your nj2dg
rpt1 nj2dg A
rpt2 nj2dg G
on the face press the TXinh button so that TXinh is off

unless you are using d-star settings you MUST NOT have your computer ip set to static.
if all is right so far you turn on the rig go to the channel, make sure the mode is DD and txinhib is off

disable any wireless on the computer.

unplug the cat5 cable from your router to your computer.

reboot your computer.

then plug the cat5 cable from the id 1 into your computer.

if all is well you should see the power lcds flashing power in & out. if so you are hand shaking with nj2dg

you should be able to browse the net at a slow pace if all is good

I have set up a wireless router with the id 1
using the d-star static infomation email me and ill give you that info

Hey it worked. I was very lucky, after the storm, I only lost power for three days. My cable (internet) also down. It looks like all the batteries in the green amp boxes up on the poles were dead. My 3g/4g sprint device was also down. My last resort 1.2ghz DD. A real big thank you to the guys at NJ2DG, Martinsville NJ. Sure I couldent surf the net but the connection worked fine for email and facebook. Using a cradlepoint wireless access point. My wife (kb2eyn) my self (ka2oon) and my daughter were all able to stay connected, sending and receiving welfare reports.
Other things like, generator, patch type TV antenna, made the aftermath no big deal, for us here.
Thanks again to the guys that run the Martinsville Stack, at NJ2DG
