The antenna appears to be a very short antenna. There is a feature called aperture efficiency- the longer the antenna, the more efficient it is at capturing a signal. If you are always traveling within a small area near the repeater, you may be able to get away with using an antenna like this. If you are on a fringe area with a normal size antenna, the signal will not be adequately captured by a small antenna like this, and you will hear a lot of "digital word salad"- R2D2 noises.
Antennas are always a compromise between physical size/convenience and system performance. You rarely, if ever, get something for nothing.

? Hello
Has anybody tried the Comtelco A1132412B 1100-1500/2400-2800 MHz antenna? I am looking for an antenna that I can mount on the roof of an suv and not have to worry about parking garages. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
