We have an article on how to do this in the Spring 2011 CQ-VHF magazine.? The ID-1 is an Ethernet bridge.? Use a plain Ethernet cable from the ID-1 to the PC at each end.? The stock ID-1 Ethernet F-F connectors are often defective check those.? Both PCs need fixed IP addresses and to be in the same subnet.? (One test is to connect the PCs to each other first by a crossover cable first).? The callsigns should be a mirror:? End 1 ¨C My WE0ABC UR: WHOXYZ?? End 2 My: WH0ABC UR: WE0ABC?? Shut off all the repeater, RPT-1, RPT-2, GW and duplex stuff- you are in DD mode.? The radios should start to chat back and forth and exchange callsigns if the RF side is ok.? ? Erik, NY9D
