I have heard that two ID-1 radios can be configured to act as a relay of DD from a DD module thru the relay to a end user who is out of range of the DD module.
I have heard that a crossover cable or a switch between the two radios would be required. I understand the radio used for connecting to the DD module is programed as tho it was the original user and the radio setup for the end user is programed with mycall and cqcqcq only, no rpt1 or rpt2.
In an experiment, we programed into radio 1 the DD module freq of 1253.000 DD RPS. For the relay radio, we used 1297.000 (no RPS) for the freq separation of 44 Mcs.
