Nope, the computer is not going to sleep or hibernate mode. It's called "the laptop computer got moved". Usually cables get unplugged at that point.
I'm just wondering if the ID-1 has a hidden setting somewhere for a transmitter Time-Out Timer.

That would cause the usb to disconnect, and possibly cause your
condition.... POSSIBLY.
