Why a weekend for Europe? ?I am pretty sure they have weekdays in Europe and even down under! ? The globe has 24 time zones and somewhere it is always a good time for one station and not another.....

I disagree. I'm sure the net has appeal outside the US, most likely
a US-Europe net would eventuate. This means it would need to be held
on a weekend at a mutually convenient time for the participants.
First thing to do would be to canvass the group for interest,
including where interested parties are.
You won't get everyone (for example, US-Europe windows are a poor
time here), but I'm sure you'll get interest outside the US.
