Seeing Squares ::?DaBratsDesigns~07:: Supplies Needed: PSP Tube of choice Accent of choice Xero (Fritillary) Lets begin! Preparation: Extract or place filters in PSP plugins folder. Open tube and accent, duplicate both and close originals. 1) Highlight tube, Image resize, Settings: Resample using =Smart size, lock aspect ratio checked, resize all layers checked Height no more than 325 in pixels, width will adjust itself. 2) Adjust, sharpness, sharpen. (If needed) 3) Dropper tool Left click on tube, choose a dark color. Set it to your foreground. Right click, choose a light color and set it to your background. 4) File, new image 325 x 400, transparent 5) Flood fill canvas with your dark color. 6) Effects, plugins, Xero, Fritillary Settings: 7) Selection tool Settings: Selection type =Rectangle, Mode =Add(Shift), Feather =30, Anti-alias checked. 8) Starting from the right side at the edge, draw out your selection, like so. 9) Hit delete on your keyboard. Select none. 10) Image, canvas size Settings: 1280 x 400 Middle left arrow checked. 11) Layers, new raster layer. 12) Layers, arrange, send to bottom. 13) Fill with your background color. 14) Effects, plugins, Xero, Fritillary. Same settings. 15) Highlight top layer. 16) Edit, copy tube, edit, paste onto your background. 17) Move your tube over to your left, place to your liking, leaving room for your text & accents. 18) Add drop shadow of choice. 19) Add your text using your light color. Settings: Foreground set to null. 20) Layers, convert to raster layer. 21) Selections, select all, selections, float, selections, defloat. 22) Effects, plugins, Xero Fritillary, same settings. 23) Effects, 3-D effects, Inner Bevel Settings: Bevel =2, width =20, smoothness =20, depth =1, ambience =0, shininess =0, color =white, angle =350, intensity =50, elevation =30. 24) Apply drop shadow of choice. Select none. 25) Edit, copy, edit, paste, your accents to the darker or light side of your background. 26) Layers, merge visible. 27) Edit, copy your accent, edit paste again the same accent, or a differant one, place on the light color part of your background in various spots until you are satisfied. 28) Hide bottom layer on layer palette. 29) Highlight top layer. 30) Layers, merge visible. 31) Lower the opacity of this layer to 20-34 32) Layers view all 33) Layers, new raster layer. 34) Add your water mark. 35) Layers, merge visible 36) File, export JPEG optimizer with compression value set to 25. Supplies Needed: PSP I wrote this in 9, other versions will work well with this tut Pixel tube of choice Penta.com Color Dot, Dot And Cross FM Tile Tools, Blend Emboss Pegtop XFader *Optional* Accent of choice Preparation: Place filters into your PSP plugins folder Open your tube in PSP, duplicate and close the original All settings remain the same unless otherwise stated 1) With dropper tool left click on your tube and choose a medium to dark color (Set it to your Foreground) Choose a lighter hue from the medium to dark color you picked from your tube 2) File, new image 1280 x the height of your tube +10 Transparent 3) Flood Fill with your dark color 4) Effects, plugins, Penta.com Dot And Cross Settings: Amount =50, Cross distance =8, Cross width =1 5) Layers, new raster layer 6) Fill with your dark color 7) Lower the opacity of this layer to 62 8) Layers, merge visible 9) Effects, plugins, FM Tile Tools, Blend Emboss at default settings 10) Layers, new raster layer 11) Selections, custom selection Settings: Top =0, Left =25, Right =140, Bottom =height of your background 12) Flood Fill with light color 13) Effects, plugins, Penta.com, Color Dot at default settings 14) Effects, plugins, FM Tile tools, Blend emboss Select none 15) Effects, 3-D effects, Drop shadow Settings: V & H =1, Opacity =40, Blur =8 Color =Black, Shadow on new layer =Unchecked 16) Repeat Drop Shadow, but only changing V & H to -1(Minus) 17) Pen tool Settings: Draw Lines and Polylines checked, Line style =Small Dash, Width =2, Anti-alias checked 18) Materials Palette Set Background to null 19) Holding your shift key down, Draw out a line along the right side of the selection you just made Like so 20) Layers, convert to raster layer 21) Repeat both drop shadows 22) Layers, duplicate 23) With move tool click on the line you just made, using your left arrow key on your keyboard, move this line over to your left 24) Edit, copy your tube 25) Edit, paste as new layer onto your working background place to your liking *Resize & Sharpen if needed* 26) Add drop shadow of choice 27) Add your accents & drop shadows now if you wish 28) Duplicate your accent tube layer, with move tool, move your tube over to the right, onto your dark background 29) Lower the opacity of this tube to your liking, Duplicate and place to your liking until you are happy with your Background 30) Add your water mark 31) Layers, merge all flatten 32) File, save as JPEG! Running your image through XFader 1) Open XFader 2) File, open Browse to were you saved your background Open 3) Click on the X next to the color circle Use settings below Only as a guideline You may have to adjust the static Y, depending on your Background Hit the green check mark on the bottom right hand corner to apply the settings 4) Next click on the icon next to the magnifying glass Again, only use the settings below as a guideline hit the green check mark to apply the settings Now you have a perfectly seemless BG!!! 5) File, save You can name your BG or keep it as the file type it is showing now. In the second drop down arrow(Save as type), choose "JPegs (*jpg) That's it! We are finished :D Run your image through Letter creator now. (One that is longer in length works best for this tut) Penta.com Color Dot This Brush ( Or one of your own ) **Note** We will be using three colors for this tutorial, So keep this in mind. Foreground (Color 1), Background (Color 2), Third color ( Light for foreground) 1) Open your tube in psp, Duplicate and close and original. 2) Resize to no more than 250 - 300 (Depending on the tube you use) pixels in height, Width will adjust itself. 3) With dropper tool Pick a light color and set it to your foreground. 4) Choose a medium to dark color and set it to your background. 5) File, new image, 200x350. 6) Selection tool Custom selection. Top =0, Left =35, Right =160, Bottom =350. 7) Fill with your foreground color. 8) Effects, plugins, Penta.com, Color dot. At Default settings. Deselect. 9) Effects 3-D effects Drop Shadow, V & H =0, Opacity =50, Blur =12, Color =Black, Shadow on new layer checked. 10) Effects, image effects, seamless tiling, Edge & Vertical checked, Default settings. 11) Layers, Merge visible. 12) Layers, new raster layer, 13) Change Foreground to your dark color, or one you would like to use. 14) With Brush tool , Size =152, step =32, Density =100, Rotation =0, Opacity =100, Blend mode normal. 15) Click along the right side of your Side border. 16) Effects, 3-D effects, drop shadow. V & H =0, Opacity =50, Blur =5, Color =Black. Shadow on new layer unchecked. 17) Layers, duplicate. 18) Image, mirror. 19) Layers duplicate. 20) Click on duplicate brush. 21) With move tool using your down arrow key on your keyboard move the duplicated brush down a bit like so. 22) Layers, duplicate. 23) Image, mirror. 24) Layers, new raster layer, Layers, arrange, send to bottom. 25) With dropper tool choose another light color from your tube and set it to your foreground. 26) Fill with your third color. 27) Adjust, add/remove noise, Add noise. Random and Monochrome both checked, Noise =4%. 28) Image, canvas size. 1280 x 340, (This will get rid of the small seam) middle left arrow checked, Change left to 20. 29) Drop shadow, same settings as before, but change blur to 12. Shadow on new layer checked. 30) Effects, image effects, Seamless tiling Same settings as before. 31) Layers, new raster layer. 32) Layers, arrange, send to bottom. 33) Fill with your first color. 34) Effects, plugins, Penta.com, Color dot. At default settings. Layers, merge visible. **Option** To Give your Background a bit more flair, you can add the same brush to your BG and lower the opacity :-) 35) Highlight tube. 36) Edit, copy. 37) Highlight your Background, 38) Edit, paste as new layer on to your background. Place to your liking. 39) Add drop shadow of choice. 40) Layers, new raster layer. 41) Add your water mark. 42) Merge all flatten. 43) File, Export JPEG with compression value set to 25. That's it! Open tube in PSP, duplicate and close original. Open mask (sg_horizontal-bands) & accents. All settings remain the same unless otherwise stated. Lets get started! 1) Highlight tube, Image resize. Settings: Resize all layers =checked Lock aspect ratio =checked Resample using bicubic =checked Height =no more than 300 pixels Width =will adjust itself 2) Adjust, sharpness, sharpen. (If Needed) 3) Dropper tool left click on your tube and choose a dark color, set it to your foreground. 4) Right click on tube and choose a lighter hue of the same dark color and set it to your background. 5) Materials palette Foreground to gradient. Settings: Foregound-background gradient, Angle =0, repeats =0, style =linear, invert unchecked, add texture =unckecked. 6) File, new image, 325 x 375, transparent. 7) Flood fill with gradient. **Optional Step** If you like to set off the bands more 8) Adjust, Add/Remove noise, add noise Settings: Random checked, monochrome checked, noise =8%. 9) Effects, texture effects, blinds Settings: Width =2, opacity =25, color =your light color, or white. Horizontal checked, Light from left/top unchecked. 10) Layers, new mask layer, from image Settings: Source window =sg_horizontal-bands. source luminance checked, invert mask data checked. 11) Layers, merge group. 12) Effects, image effects, seamless tiling Settings: Edge & Vertical checked, at default settings. 13) Image, canvas size. Settings: 1280 x 375 Middle left arrow checked. 14) Layers, new raster layer. 15) Layers, arrange, send to bottom. 16) Flood Fill with black, or foreground color. 17) Effects, texture effects, blinds Settings: Width =2, opacity =25, color =your light color, or white. Light from left/top checked, horizontal unchecked. 18) Edit, copy tube. 19) Edit, paste as new layer on working canvas. 20) Layers, arrange, bring to top. 21) Effects, 3-D effects, drop shadow Settings: V & H =0, opacity =80, blur = 12, color =your dark color (or if using a dark color for your background use black) shadow on new layer unchecked. 22) Move tool move your masked layer & tube over to the left, leaving enough room for your text. 23) Layers, new raster layer. 24) Selection tool Settings: Selection type =Rectangle, mode =Add(Shift), feather =0, Anti-alias checked. Select the very edge of your masked image on the right side. Like so. 25) Fill with your dark color. 26) Effects, plugins, Gregs Factory Output V.2, Pool shadow at default settings. 27) Effects, texture effects, Blinds, Settings: Width =2, opacity =60, color =your dark color, Light from left/top checked, horizontal unchecked. Repeat blinds 3 times for a total of 4 times. Select none. 28) Effects, image effects, seamless tiling, Same settings. 29) Effects, 3-D effects, drop shadow, Settings: V & H =0, opacity =80, blur = 12, color =your dark color, or use black, shadow on new layer checked. 30) Effects, image effects, seamless tiling, same settings. 31) Layers, merge visible. 33) Add your text. 34) Apply the same drop shadow. 35) Add your accents. 36) Add drop shadow. 37) Add your water mark. 38) File, export JPEG with compression value set to 25. When playing with this one, I learned that there is a LOT more to I.C. Net Software-Filters Unlimited 2.0 as this tut required a BKG filter that wasn't part of 2.0. I have a half hour search finding and loading those into 2.0 and it worked great once I found it. I'm glad I tried the tut, it taught me something I hadn't experienced.
