Country Quilt Tutorial By Simple Elegance Designs | March 11, 2008 If you use my tutorial, please be kind enough to follow my rules. Tutorial was written using PSP 8 Supplies Needed -- A tube of choice Filters: LOtis Filters/Mosaic Toolkit-v2.022 - Download Here Having trouble downloading from Mediafire? Try the following sites for the filters listed. Here or Here or Here Filters won't load? Check in files section at SED for tips under Frequently Asked Questions. Let's Begin 1. Open tube of choice, duplicate (Shift + D) and close original. 2. Using dropper tool, pick a light color for foreground and a dark color for background. 3. Resize if needed. Settings: Resize all layers = checked Lock aspect ratio = checked Resample using = Bicubic Width = No more than 300 pixels Height = Let self adjust 4. Image/Canvas Size Settings: Width: 1500 *or your preference* Height: Height of tube plus 50 pixels Placement: Left middle arrow 5. Layers/New Raster Layer 6. Layers/Arrange/Send to bottom 7. Using flood fill tool, fill with background color. Right click to fill. 8. Effects/Plugins/LOtis Filters/Mosaic Toolkit-v2.022 Settings: Styles: Balls Cell Size pixels: 10 Contrast: 20 Cell Color Tweak: 180 Glow Brightness: 1 Blend: 0 Blend Options Options: Nothing Checked 9. Effects/Image Effects/Seamless Tiling Settings: Edge & Vertical Width & Transition: Self Adjust 10. OPTIONAL: If you feel the background is not text friendly, you may add a new layer and flood fill, then reduce the opacity to a text friendly setting. 11. Layers/New Raster Layer 12. Selection Tool/Custom Selection Settings: Selection type: Rectangle Mode: Replace Feather: 0 Anti-alias: Checked Green arrow is pointing to custom selection button Custom Selection Settings: Top: 0 Left: 10 Right: 30 Bottom: Height of your background 13. Flood fill with foreground color. Left click to fill. 14. Effects/Plugins/LOtis Filters/Mosaic Toolkit-v2.022 15. Selections/Select None 16. Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow Settings: V & H: 0 Opacity: 65 Blur: 5 Color: Black Shadow on new layer: Not checked 17. Layers/Duplicate 18. Using Move Tool , move the duplicated bar over to the right about 10 pixels. 19. Layers/Merge/Merge Down 20. Layers/Duplicate 21. Move the duplicated bars over once again about 10 pixels. 22. Layers/Merge/Merge Down 23. Effects/Image Effects/Seamless Tiling 24. Click on tube layer and add a drop shadow of choice, do not add a drop shadow if using a misted tube. Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow Settings: V & H: 1 Opacity: 65 Blur: 5 Color: Black Shadow on New Layer: Not Checked 25. Layers/New Raster Layer 26. Add your watermark 27. Supplies Needed Paint Shop Pro - I used PSP 9 - should work on other versions. Filter – FunHouse – here Filter –FM Tile Tools – here Graphic of choice. Embellishment of choice. Let’s get started STEP 1 Open your PSP (Paint Shop Pro) Open your graphic – duplicate – close original. Select dark color for Foreground – light color for background. Set the Foreground to Gradient An easy way to add color to your border. When you want to add a border you go to, Image – Add Borders Right click on the Color box. In the bottom left corner are your color selections, so all you have to do is click the color you need. STEP 2 Image – Add Borders – 3 – light color Image – Add Borders – 5 – dark color Image – Add Borders – 3 – light color Selections – Select All Selections – Modify – Contract – 11 Effects – 3D Effects – Cutout Repeat cutout using -4,-4, 50, 15.00, black Selections – Invert Effects – 3D Effects – Inner Bevel Selections – Select None STEP 3 Image – Add Borders – 25 – white Select border with Magic Wand Flood Fill with Gradient Adjust – Add/Remove Noise – Add Noise Selections – Select None STEP 4 Image – Add Borders – 3 – light color Image – Add Borders – 5 – dark color Image – Add Borders – 3 – light color Selections – Select All Selections – Modify – Contract – 11 Selections – Invert Effects – 3D Effects – Inner Bevel - same setting used earlier Selections – Select None STEP 5 Image – Add Borders – 35 – white Select border with Magic Wand Flood Fill with Gradient Adjust – Add/Remove Noise – Add Noise - same setting used earlier Effects – Plugins – FunHouse – Centripedal Tile Effects – Plugins – FM Tile Tools – Blend Emboss Selections – Select None STEP 6 Repeat Step 4 STEP 7 For the embellishments Layers – New Raster Layer Copy your tube embellishment and paste it as a new selection on your framed image. Place in the left corner of your border. Click 1 time once the embellishment is in the place you wish it. Effects – 3D Effects – Drop Shadow Selections – Select None Layers – Duplicate Image – Mirror Layers – Merge – Merge Down Layers – Duplicate Image – Flip Layers – New Raster Layer Add your watermark or name to your work.
